Our belief is that achieving a high grade point average should not be the only criteria for determining who deserves to be helped. For that reason we are offering a scholarship that will be awarded on the basis of character, as determined by an evaluation of the essays that are submitted.

Scholarships are intended for our future leaders across a wide spectrum of fields of study. This award is available to high school seniors and all students attending a postsecondary educational facility.

Coca-Cola Scholar FoundationIt is an achievement-based scholarship awarded to graduating high school seniors each year. Students are recognized for their capacity to lead and serve, and their commitment to making a significant impact on their schools and communities. With the 29th class in 2017, the Foundation has provided over 5,850 Coca-Cola Scholars with more than $63 million in educational support. 150 Coca-Cola Scholars are selected each year to receive this $20,000 scholarship. Strayer-Rairden Scholarship (Freshman scholarship for University of Iowa)
The Department of Physics and Astronomy awards one $1000 grant each year, renewable for up to three (3) successive years following the initial award, to an entering freshman from the state of Iowa. This person is selected by the Department of Physics and Astronomy as the state's best qualified applicant who matriculates at the University of Iowa and has declared physics or astronomy as their major. This scholarship is awarded on the basis of academic merit, not financial need.
As long as a scholarship winner maintains a 3.2 grade point average, and remains in the declared major specified above, the scholarship may be renewed for a total of four years or the completion of a baccalaureate degree, whichever comes first. Pearl Hull Falk$800 Scholarship MidWestOne Bank administers the Pearl Hull Falk Trust which provides funds for the Pearl Hull Falk Scholarship. Prior to her death in 1965, Pearl Hull Falk resided in Iowa City where her husband was a prominent banker during the early 1900's. The trust was established under the Last Will and Testament of Mrs. Falk to provide annual scholarships to needy and worthy students attending the University of Iowa. Grand Lodge of Iowa, Masonic ScholarshipGraduating senior pursuing a post-secondary education in any state. Applicants need not have a Masonic connection. A broad-based criteria is used in the selection process. The principal criterion is service to school and community with special emphasis upon leadership roles in these areas. The Grand Lodge of Iowa is looking for those students who exhibit the greatest potential to be not only of service to their communities in the future but also leaders in these communities. Diesel Technician ScholarshipThe Truck Center Companies Scholarship (TCC) is designed to provide opportunities for students to attend and graduate from accredited Community and Technical College programs in Diesel or Collision Repair Technology.

First Friday Breakfast Club ScholarshipFFBC (First Friday Breakfast Club) awards annual scholarships to outstanding Iowa high seniors who fight homophobia and educate their schools and/or communities about lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) issues. The online application form takes approximately one hour to complete. It is necessary to complete the application in a single session, as the form cannot be saved and reopened at a later time. The scholarship application is composed of a section requesting personal, academic and financial information, and a formal essay about goals, community involvement, and achievements.

Essays should be 500-1,200 words in length, single spaced using Times New Roman 12-point font that address each of the following:

Describe your educational and career goals, community/college volunteer involvement, achievements (honors, awards, etc.) and financial need.

Iowa PGA Section Charlie Burkart Scholarshipthe Iowa PGA Foundation annually awards a college scholarship in memory of Charlie Burkart, PGA member for 49 years and head professional at the Elmcrest Country Club in Cedar Rapids for 48 years. The purpose of the scholarship is to assist students in furthering their education. At least one high school graduate will be the 2018 recipient of $1500 per year for four years. Other previously graduated applicants will be reviewed with additional scholarships awarded when possible.

Any graduating high school senior or previous graduate residing within the boundaries of the Iowa PGA Section and the State of Iowa is eligible to apply. The Iowa PGA Section is bounded on the west by U.S. Highway 71 and includes an area of western Illinois from a point north of Quincy, east to near Springfield and directly north. It includes the major cities of Monmouth, Macomb, Galesburg, Moline, Rock Island, Kewanee and Galena. It does not include the cities of Freeport, Springfield or Quincy.

Hagan Scholarship FoundationEach Hagan Scholarship will help pay the unmet financial need of the recipient up to $6,000 each semester for up to 8 consecutive semesters.

The scholarship disbursement amount will be determined each semester by HSF by using one-half of the Total Cost of Attendance (COA) published by the National Center for Educational Statistics and posted on the HSF website less $1,250 which represents the recipient’s contribution for their education; then subtracting the dollar amount of ALL scholarships, awards, grants, waivers, and one-half of the recipient’s EFC.
The scholarship award amount can be increased subsequent semesters to offset the expiration of other scholarships, awards, and grants.
During the fall semester of the second year of college a $15,000 Schwab Scholar Account will be established for each scholarship recipient. See Schwab Account.
During the fall semester of the third year of college each recipient achieving a 3.50 CGPA will be eligible for an all expense paid Study Abroad Award. See Study Abroad.
During the fall semester of the fourth year of college after establishing a personal Schwab Brokerage Account each recipient will receive $1,000 to be used to start investing for their long term financial security. See Schwab Account.
Each scholarship is renewable for up to seven additional semesters if the recipient fulfills the renewal criteria, attends the mandatory workshops, and fulfills their Schwab Account responsibilities.
There is no limit to the number of credit hours a recipient can earn during the term of their scholarship. Recipients graduating college in less than four years can use the remainder of their Hagan Scholarship to attend graduate school or a professional school.
Recipients must attend a free mandatory workshop prior to the start of each academic year of college. HSF provides funding for travel and lodging costs. See Workshops.
Each recipient must work 240 hours in the twelve months prior to the start of each academic year of college and provide proof of employment.
