ex. Mr. and Mrs. John Smith
Miss Alice Smith
123 ABC StreetUnit 2PortlandOregon97201Formal guest addressing dictates that all items are spelled out - Apt should be listed as Apartment and the city and state should not be abbreviated - OR becomes Oregon
3
Guests traditionally are addressed by couple - a married couple John and Jane Smith would be addressed as Mr. and Mrs. John Smith
4
The member of the party with the highest title (ex. Dr.) is listed prior to someone of a lower title. For a married couple with a female Doctor, the envelope would be addressed: Dr. Jane Smith and Mr. John Smith
5
Honorifics should be used as follows: Mrs. for a married woman, Ms or Miss for an unmarried woman, Miss for a single woman under 18, Mr. for a man of any age, though children can be listed by name only
6
A separate invitation should be sent to every member of the household over the age of 18. If parents have two children in the house over 18, that house would get three separate invitations
