PURPOSE: To confirm that the horse demonstrates correct basics, by showing suppleness both laterally and longitudinally, moving freely forward in a clear rhythm with a steady tempo, and readily accepting contact with the bit. Correct geometry and lines of travel should be shown.RIDER #10470Link:

Well matched pair. Continue to develop reliable connection with less fussy head/neck. Canter will benefit from more energy overall. Work on keep leg aids on and more effective during downward transitions.

This pair showed some nice moments, just need to get them more consistent!
Horse tends to be fussy and unsteady in the connection. Work on keeping the jaw and poll more supple and listening to half halts throughout the test.
The stretchy trot is really important. Freedom to stretch must be offered, even though contact is maintained. The poll needs to lower – we are looking for the poll to generally be about the same level as the withers – and the nose must stretch out. The outline of the horse will change with a correct stretchy trot. The tempo should remain the same however. This is an area of potential improvement in your test – practice circles with more bend: inside and outside bend; more flexion in both directions and longitudinal balance. Execution of the stretchy trot is often a consideration for your submission score.
Work on keeping steady energy and forward feel during your down transitions. Less rein and more leg. Practice going forward and back on a circle until the tempo remains the same as your change the pace. Lots of trot/canter/almost trot transitions on a circle can be helpful too. Think about keeping down transitions straight also.
The 2nd canter was quite nice, so good job there! You have a lot of potential for higher scores as your work on these things.
