ISC3 members spoke about some projects they have been involved in. Joyce Jong discussed Grow Riverside and Matt Barth briefly spoke about the High-Power Freight-Charging Corridor (RHETTA project) & Deployment of Class 8 (Huge) Battery-Powered Trucks (JETSI project). Members voted to start a Steering Committee and nominated members. Resilient Cities Catalyst also joined us to speak about their Statewide Landscape Analysis to inform California's climate resilience grant programs

AprilCollaborative Evolution 2.0Catherine Foster - Project Manager for Climate & Energy at CivicWell | Capital Region Climate Readiness Collaborative This meeting was centered around further developing the ISC3. During the first half of our meeting, we were joined by Catherine Foster, Project Manager for Climate and Energy Programs at CivicWell, who discussed the Capital Region Climate Readiness Collaborative (CRCRC) focusing on: (1) How collaboratives decide what to focus on, (2) CBO involvement, and (3) Governance structure. This was then followed by a discussion on the possibility of pursuing the Strategic Growth Council Regional Climate Collaborative grant program funding. During this meeting, ISC3 members heard from Elizabeth Sena, founder member of the Southern Fontana Concerned Citizens Coalition, as she spoke about the Fontana warehouse settlement. Laurence Abcede, Distributed Energy Resources Manager San Diego Gas & Electric, presented on the Borrego Springs microgrid, and Traeger Cotten, Field Engineer Southern California Edison, presented on programs SCE has to support microgrids.

Funding throughout the nation and state is always changing. As vulnerable communities are already facing increasing impacts from climate change, we are now seeing funding for climate preparedness continuously increasing. During this meeting we were joined by Woodrow Covington, Grants & Proposals Director of Climate Resolve, Andrea Owen, B&A Grant Consulting, and Josh Lee, Chief of Planning, SBCTA, as they updated us on these such funding opportunities. ISC3 members also got the opportunity to brainstorm some ideas related to the funding opporunities that were presented.

Air quality is an important issue which has been impacting the Inland Empire, particularly disadvantaged communities. Investing in clean transportation is one of the significant ways that we can lessen carbon emissions and improve air quality in our communities. During this meeting we heard from Tarah Campi from CALSTART about Medium and Heavy-Duty Incentive and Infrastructure programs in California. Nick Josefowitz from the Prop 30 campaign talked to us about what the funds raised from Prop 30 would go towards, including investments in electric vehicles. Enrique Huerta from Climate Resolve gave a legislative update on recent climate bills that have passed in California. Arthur Levine from the Redford Conservancy hosted this meeting, which was the ISC3 steering committee's first time trying out a rotating facilitator model. We were joined by Lynn Fang, who gave a presentation on soil science and community composting. Baani Behniwal from The Climate Center spoke about state and local policy initiatives related to NWL.
