Spring 2026 Tentative Colorado State Assessment Windows
A typical state assessment administration season is scheduled for spring 2026 as required by state and federal law. The testing calendar is developed keeping in mind that some schools are on four-day week calendars, some schools may experience a weather closure, and some students may miss a couple of days due to religious observance. While it is not feasible to develop a testing schedule that completely avoids all work-restricted religious holidays every year, they are taken into consideration in determining the calendar.

High School CoAlt ELA/Math (DLM) for grades 9 through 11
Aligned to PSAT/SAT schedule to the extent possible

1 To the extent possible, students taking the alternate assessment in a content area for which they are participating in a general education class should be assessed at the same time as their general education peers to avoid missed instruction. Schools may also ensure that students taking the alternate assessment do not miss instruction from their general education class(es) through other means.

2 Social studies tests will be administered in grades 4 and 7 at selected schools (a representative sample of schools in Colorado, roughly one-third of schools). The sampling plan of selected schools will be shared with DACs this fall.

3 CMAS/CoAlt Administration Window

Students requiring accommodations (including CSLA) should test at the same time as their peers.
