What is this document?Who are we?
5
It's a way to brainstorm, schedule, and keep track of your social media posts across the year!

To use: please make a copy or download.

We've added special days and events that may help you plan content, but recommend you lookout for additional opportunities as these dates unveil.

There are many great game release calendars out there, but we would (with bias) recommend the Terminals.io Release Calendar.

To edit some of the standardized drop-downs across this document, feel free to directly add, edit, or remove content in the black Data Validation tab.
We are Evolve PR, a video game marketing agency based in Canada. Evolve provides PR, social media & community, video production, and research & analysis services to game devs and publishers around the world, from indie to AAA.
We've also developed Terminals.io, the ultimate tools suite for video game PR.

Learn more about us here: https://www.evolve-pr.com/

(ICYMI, we’ve released a Contact-Database Template for all your outreach needs, and a Social Media Asset Guideline for 2023 that covers all major social channels!)

How should I use the Brainstorm Tab?How should I use the Monthly Tabs?
8
Other than throwing spaghetti at the wall and seeing what sticks, the Brainstorm tab is a great area to use in conjunction with a game design document.

Do you have 10 playable characters? 4 unique environments? Accessibility options? A romanceable antagonist?

All of these can form the basis for good social posts in combination with humour, a great asset, and timely content. Start lining up what's unique about your game and what it offers, and noodle away on content as the year marches on.

Column A in this tab can be used to further delineate content between different titles, timelines, or versions of your games.
Take the content from you brainstorm tab and start scheduling it into your days of the week!

Pay attention to special events that may make your content more relevant, and tweak your copy and content appropriately. Make sure to be constantly scanning socials and news for opportunities for your content to be all the more topical.

● The platform columns can be used to mark where your content is going. Feel free to change these in the Data Validation tab as needed.
● Content tags can be used to keep track of what types of content you are putting out.
● Character count will automatically update with copy!
● The visual asset column is where we link the photos and videos we'll use for our posts. We use organized Google Drive folders by month, but any link will do.

Example: Music is a key component of my game, so I link my 5 music tracks which I'll want to share on social media. One is Nicklebackesque so I'll probably make a meme out of it, while another is dark and mysterious and might make a good environmental music visualizer.Example: You're planning for the month of June and plugging in some of your brainstorm content. You see June 13 is when E3 was supposed to start, so you decide to make a (possibly mean) joke by posting the desert biome of your game.
