Where is the line up?You can access our incredible line up Here

Tickets are still available Here. 		Will the 2024 event be live-streamed?No, however, the live talks will be recorded and made available on www.shinefestival.ie 1-2 weeks post-event. These videos will then be available for the entire academic year 2024/25.

What do the girls wear? Wear something comfy—like your school tracksuit or anything easy to move in. You’ll want to feel relaxed and ready to groove!Where is the line up?Our line up for all of the pre-recorded content on Shine Online is available Here .

The girls are joining me at the venue separately, can they head in without me? All students must register and enter with their teachers/ leaders for crowd management purposes. Please note that anyone unaccompanied by a teacher or registered guest will not be able to attend.How long will the content be available for?For the entire school year! Many of these videos are excellent support content for various topics on the secondary school curriculum, so why not work them into your lesson plan?

Will there be a break?There will be a 1 hour break, students will be invited to walk around the exhibition space and stretch their legs, but will not be permitted to leave the venue.How can I use Shine Online as a class resource? Over the coming weeks, as we have some new resources coming your way. Think wellbeing lesson plans that not only contain our Shine videos but also tick off Junior Cycle LOs, Wellbeing Indicators and Key Skills.

Will there be food facilities or will the girls need a packed lunch?Students and teachers are advised to bring a packed lunch, a water bottle and a small amount of money. We will have additional water, simple food/snacks and coffee facilities on site.

All food MUST be consumed in the main hall and NOT in any other room in the venue. 		Is the content suitable for boys?Yes absolutely, and we welcome them getting involved. Some content will be heavily female-focused, but much of the content will resonate and be appropriate for them too.

Can I access the online site too? While the in-person live event is exclusively for TYs, we’re excited to invite the rest of your school to tune in to our pre-recorded content. Why not host a mini-festival at your school to celebrate the day?

You’ll have access to the online platform all year long, featuring nearly 300 pre-recorded sessions on everything from mental health and wellness to career advice, the arts, sports, social issues, and practical life skills. Each video is around 20 minutes—perfect for class, and we’ve included discussion prompts to get conversations started! We also have lesson plans that will be updated after the event. They can be accessed Here 		Can students watch content at home?Yes, you can allocate your students videos to watch as homework, along with the journal prompts, which can be turned into essay questions or reflections. You can also ask them to watch different videos and report back on what they’ve learned. Do what works for your students.

Where can the bus park? Free onsite coach parking will be available to each school. The coach parking is located within a 2-3 minute walk from the front door of the venue.

Coach drivers must follow the instructions of venue parking attendants. 		Are there any sensitive topics covered?Yes, there are, and they will be flagged as such. The videos are all women sharing their personal stories, so please pre-watch any videos that you’re not sure about.

Where will the bus pick us up? Coach parking is close by. Schools will be able to walk to the coaches when they are ready to leave the venue when the event finishes. Is the content age appropriate?All content is aimed at secondary school girls, but some are more suitable for a senior cycle cohort. As teachers, you are best placed to make a decision about what to watch.

Is the venue wheelchair accessible? Yes the venue is fully wheelchair accessible.
Please let us know in advance so we ensure allocated space for show seating. 		Will the girls need anything while watching the content?Each video has a journal question, so maybe a special shine notebook or just their regular copy books are fine.

Is there a quiet space for students who need a break?Yes, please let one of the ushers know if you need to access this space.

How long is the event going to be? The event will run from 10:30 am to 3 pm. We ask that all schools stay for the entire day to ensure that the girls get the most out of the experience which ends with a special musical guest and sing-along.

Is there a space for teachers to go during the event?No. Teachers will be asked to stay with their students and supervise their group at all times.

Should the girls bring their phones?There will be plenty of ways for the girls to interact, comment, and engage with us through their phones. We just ask them to be respectful and engaged while speakers are on stage and to ensure they are kept on silent during the main event.

Can we take photos?Yes, we encourage the girls to take and share photos with their friends. We have asked all guests, speakers and exhibitors to not take close up, iedntifiable photos of attendees faces, but they will be taking wider photos.

There will be a videographer and photographer in attendance for The Shona Project, who will take photos for promotional use.
