PURPOSE: Tests confirm that the horse is supple and moves freely forward in a clear steady rhythm, accepting light contact with the bit. The horse demonstrates greater understanding of the aids and calm acceptance of the bridle; greater emphasis is placed on relaxation, harmony, rideability and pure gaits. The horse is beginning to develop more impulsion and balance.JUDGE:Robyn Nunnally

EXTRA FEEDBACK
I enjoyed watching your test. Your horse appears to very obedient and willing and is certainly on the correct training path. Good job!
Do a little suppling before your transitions to maintain some elasticity in the connection. Ask for more bend from your inside leg and rein. Instead of stiffening the neck as your leg comes on, your horse should soften and round to it. Practice asking a little sooner, and a little softer. Think of maintaining a steady tempo and forward energy all the way through each transition.
Another area to improve is your free walk. It should show active steps, with the hind hooves overtracking the front, or at least stepping up. The stretch also should be very active, with the horse reaching down and out for the bit as the reins are lengthened. Use your seat to enourage both the forward energy and stretch.
I found your position to be well aligned. Your arms are somewhat stiff, so practice really using your elbows to do your half halts. At home, exaggerate the following motions of the walk to get your arms moving. To be effective, our arms must move and follow the bit, yet remain soft. Keeping your elbows bent with your upper arms back a little will help you find this elasticity in the contact.
