SET Pre 1.0 is a tool for teacher self-evaluation in kindergartens.

The international project "Self-evaluation as a means to improve pre-school education" shares and develops experiences in conducting self-evaluation among kindergarten teachers. The result is an application with a guide for pre-school teachers.

Representatives of kindergartens and educational institutions from the Czech Republic, Latvia and Turkey are participating in the project.

Self-evaluation (self-assessment) can be defined as a voluntary process of "self-analysis" through which we get feedback, find out where our strengths and weaknesses are, what skills and competencies we need to strengthen, etc. Self-evaluation is an important introspective method that supports teachers' professional development. Self-evaluation enhances the quality of the educational and training process and contributes to the professional development of the teacher, provided that the teacher is determined to continue working on himself/herself and looking for ways to strengthen his/her skills and knowledge.

After completing the questionnaire (2nd sheet) with 60 statements from 4 areas (Me, the teacher; Me and the children; Me and the parents; Me and the environment), the user receives the results immediately after completion. The results are displayed using graphs and texts (3rd sheet). At the same time, the application contains specific recommendations (4th sheet) for further improvement of the teacher's competencies, skills, and qualifications.
