UCSD self-guided sustainability tourA way for anyone to take tour of all the sustainability sites at UCSD, like the gardens, solar installations, battery projects, LEED platinum buildings, etc. This could be virtual from a website, with pics/videos/and additional information, or a walking tour with a printed map and info about each siteSasha Doppeltone person to take the lead on identifying all the sustainable sites, and working with a team to compile information on each place and figure out where and how to present it, such as on sustainability.ucsd.edu, the ucsd tours website, freshman orientation, new staff orientation, etc.Housing Dining and Hospitality Econauts offer their own HDH sustainability tours, and we could possible get a UCSD Environmental Systems (ESYS) Senior Intern to do this project for us

Sustainability TrainingWorking with campus staff education and development to integrate sustainability training into their curriculum, perhaps creating a "sustainability in the workplace" learning road map, which are groups of classes centered around a learning topic like managementKristen Kielich

Presentation or Poster Session at ConferenceTo promote other campuses/places creating a SSN of their own, talk about the steps it takes to start a SSN on campus and maybe best practices of getting the group up and going. Kim KaneOnce someone hears of an appropriate upcoming conference we could submit an abstract for either the poster session or a speaker and if it gets accepted start working on the content. We would need to identity who would present, or create the poster and how we would get funding. Conferences might include AASHE, or the CA Higher Education Sustainability Conference http://chesc.org/
Kim could help with content.

Eco RepsA representative from (each) office to dissemenate and promote green initiatives in the workplace and on campus back to their respective office. These representatives for a group/community/subgroup of/within SSNKim KaneSolicit volunteers from different offices, create a role description, identify (small) action items for reps to bring back to the office to implement. Iris can help - they had Eco reps at her previous university

Identification of opportunity for improvementSSN sends out some sort of survey asking staff for their feedback on wasteful areas of campus that they'd like to see improved, for example a non-used lawn or lack of recycling options. SSN reports findings to VC of Resource Mgmt, and gets ideas for ways to improve campus that matter to staffSasha Doppelt

Plastic Free Julyhave a plastic free July event at UCSD. get everyone involved, HDH, price center restaurants. encourage people to pledge one way in which they will reduce their plastic use during the month of JulySasha Doppeltit would be a large effort, and I think it would be most successfull if we engaged multiple parties across campusThere is an org called Plastic Free July that has a bunch of resources on their website: http://www.plasticfreejuly.org/
