Cassie was a terrific graduate supervisor to me. Cassie not only helped me navigate the scary world of applying to graduate school, but Cassie continually challenged me to think through conceptual and theoretical issues related to addiction. Cassie was open, honest, and caring. Cassie approached being a graduate supervisor with respect to my time, commitments, and responsibilities, while also holding me accountable for a strong work ethic in the lab.
I don't have much to say about changes Cassie could make. I think Cassie was a well-rounded graduate mentor and made me feel comfortable in all aspects.
The most important thing I would took away from supervision with Cassie was professionalism. During my undergraduate years, I struggled at times to find what I wanted out of life and a career, and Cassie helped me navigate several complicated situations. Cassie provided thorough yet caring professional development as I navigated several life and academic situations.
Cassie approached the complicated field of addiction science from an understandable and rudimentary lens that made it easy to learn as an undergraduate. There are experiences I had while working under Cassie that still today have shaped how I think and conceptualize research. Cassie helped me understand the field of addiction, with open and affirming commentary to me.

Cassie goes above and beyond to help out her students and to ensure that they understand all of the expectations of the work at hand
Nothing!
The most important thing I will take away from my experience in this lab is a better understanding of research from start to finish. I learned valuable skills in this lab that will be extremely beneficial for my future.
Cassie is a true super human - she somehow manages to accomplish a million things at once all while raising two little kids at home. She is one of the best role models and I can't wait to see all of the things she achieves in her life and career!

Cassie was always very thorough with our coding responses, and made sure that she understood our thought processes and why we came to the conclusions we did. She treated us like colleagues, not employees, and this fostered a very productive, communicative environment.
None. She was a great authority figure and role model for us, I have no complaints!
Research is a lot of work. There are innumerable obstacles along the way to a final project that sometimes pop up unexpectedly. Cassie taught us to be prepared for these nonetheless, and this has been a valuable skill for me to apply to any kind of job.
Cassie is a superwoman. While I worked for her, she simultaneously carried out her thesis work, applied for residencies and internships, was mother to a toddler at home, and was pregnant! And she somehow managed it all with grace and tenacity; she never wavered in her dedication to the project. I was and am endlessly impressed by her and I’m sure her future employers and patients will be too.

I enjoyed the aspect of being able to get experience. Cassie was great at helping us if we were stuck on something, or explaining why we should do a certain task a specific way.
