2FORM 2F- to verify your foreign school credential.I submitted my form 2f to my school and requested that they email my requirements to OPNYSED because, as of Oct 2023 they are accepting school verification via email. 0

FORM 3F- to verify your PH licenseI was supposed to submit my Form 3F to verify my PH license, but I skipped this one. This step is risky because if your evaluator finds out you have an existing license, they will pend your application for another 4 weeks. Just do it @ your own risk.

3FORM 1F Application for Licensure
After my school confirmed they emailed my form 2F to NYSED, I processed my form 1F and submitted it online. This should be completed in one sitting because the site will refresh every 30 min and make sure that all information is accurate.

4ELIGIBILITY
After a month, I received an email that I am now eligible to take the NCLEX.

5NCLEX REGISTRATION
I registered for the exam and paid the fee.

6ATT
I received my Authorization to Test (ATT) after 2 days which will allow me to schedule my exam. For NY, your ATT will last for only 6 months.

STUDY TIPS

1. Be familiar with NCLEX. Read Chapter 1 of Saunders.
- Learn the types of questions on the examination and scoring system. Use it to your advantage.
- Be familiar with the Computer Adaptive Test (CAT) and how it works.

2. Practice q and a. Read the rationale!!!
Be consistent. Get at least 60-80% for every test.

3. Be familiar with all the concepts, especially the fundamentals! NCLEX utilizes CAT, which determines your weak areas and will continue to throw questions that you are not confident with.

STUDY ROUTINE
I did not enroll in any review centers. I only self-reviewed because I was working full time, so I had to manage my time effectively. 

I only had 8 weeks to review, so I planned on studying certain concepts every 2 weeks. I would study Monday–Friday and rest on weekends.

2 weeks general nursing info and fundamentals of nursing
2 weeks MS & Psychia
2 weeks OB
2 weeks Pedia

I would wake up 2-3 hrs before my shift to study. I study by watching simplenursing videos, familiarizing myself with my flashcards, and reading my personal review notes.

During my break time, lunch, and after-shift, I would try to answer 30-100 questions and read rationale. My goal was to get 65% and above for every assessment.
