Hello and Welcome to the Practical Market Research Sheet

This sheet intends to help you collect and categorize the information you accumulate during your market research for your startup or side-project.

The sheet comes with suggestions for tabs and columns. It's up to you to decide what you like to use and remove what you don't want to use, of course. The sheet is updated as needed and comes currently with:

- Names & Phrases: A tab to collect terms describing your product or idea. You can identify synonyms using thesaurus.com for free. To gauge interest, it's recommended to add the search volume once you have completed a basic list. You can check search volume in bulk, for free without registration at searchvolume.io. Name availability can be checked on https://bit.ly/name-check

- Spaces & Links: A tab to collect links to blogs, news sites, subreddits, forums, niche communities and any other related space on the Internet. This tab full-fills [fulfills] two purposes. If you can't find more than a few spaces & links related to your issues it might not be worth addressing. Secondarily, it helps you to identify a marketing approach and to curate the places where your users/customers hang out.

- People: At the end, it comes to the people you interact with. This tab allows you to collect basic information like names, contact details, how you found the person. This sheet allows you to collect related links to communities, subreddits, forums, etc.

- Competitors: Most likely you will stumble across similar projects or competitors. This doesn't mean you shouldn't do the project. It just means you should be aware of them and learn from their work. You don't need to be the first one doing it, just the last one.
