8/20/2020 9:30:48Kevin J. maninblack77)103095"Upon first glance, this is a beautiful golden hued belicoso. Reminds me of the sun coming up over the Black Hills when I was on vacation there. Smooth to the touch. Slight oils here and there. Just a gorgeous looking Connecticut shade wrapper. " -Kevin J. (maninblack77)95"The foot and the wrapper as well gave off notes of dry hay as well as a lemon like aroma and a clove like sweetness. I decided to smoke this first thing in the morning before I smoke my stronger cigars so I don't muddle the flavors. I paired it with my usual sweet tea. Let's fire it up and see what it holds in store for us. " -Kevin J. (maninblack77)92.5Mild-MediumLight-Medium"I decided to toast the foot with my soft flame so I don't scorch the tobacco. First few puffs were definitely that typical Connecticut flavor profile of dry hay and tobacco. But i also got some white pepper on the back end that I found enjoyable. Eventually those citrus notes made their appearance known and made for a great start to this cigar. Burn was slightly wavy but easily corrected. Ash held on for almost an inch before I knocked it away so it didn't end up in my lap. " -Kevin J. (maninblack77)92.5Mild-MediumLight-Medium"As we head into the second third, flavors remain relatively the same. Retro is very smooth. White pepper remains which mixes well with the lemon zest. Slight nuttiness at times but not overwhelming. Ash is very flaky and really makes a mess on my shirt. Really enjoyable thus far for the first cigar of the day. " -Kevin J. (maninblack77)92.5Mild-MediumLight-Medium"The final third begins and ends the same way the cigar began. While not complex by any means, the dry hay, citrus notes and black pepper worked well together. I never got the sweet clove notes I smelled from the foot. Was really looking forward to that. Enjoyable finish to the cigar. " -Kevin J. (maninblack77)95"Overall the draw wasn't too loose or too tight. Just the right amount of give to it. " -Kevin J. (maninblack77)90"Burn was wavy throughout but not a huge detractor for me. Was easily corrected, even if I had to correct it several times. " -Kevin J. (maninblack77)92.5"Well constructed. Never once cracked on me, which happens often with our humidity and brittle wrappers. " -Kevin J. (maninblack77)92.5"This is exactly what I'd look for as a morning cigar or first cigar of the day. I typically smoke stronger cigars from the beginning of the day to the end but this was a nice change of pace for me. I'm really starting to enjoy these more often. I'd give this cigar an overall rating of 89. Flavors were pleasant and not overwhelming or overpowering. Would I smoke this again? Yes. Easily worth buying a fiver. 8/22/2020 14:20:20Matt Cade CADE)103092.5"The light golden wrapper is very attractive with a well constructed cap and just the right amount of give when squeezed between two fingers. " -Matt Cade (CADE)87.5"The cigar features the extremely faint aroma of fresh cut grass and mild hay." -Matt Cade (CADE)90MildLight"The cold draw is super duper grassy, it’s seriously the Cheech & Chong of cold draws. Upon torching the foot, there’s a nice sting of white pepper through the nose while the draw reveals cedar and a light, bready toast flavor. And those flavors remain constant with the addition of some mineral on the retrohale at around the one inch mark. The draw is smooth as a dream and the aroma pouring off the cigar is highly pleasant. " -Matt Cade (CADE)87.5MildLight-Medium"It’s steady as she goes flavor-wise; however, the woodsiness on the draw gets a touch bolder in the first few moments of the second third overshadowing the toast. The mineral and mild pepper are playing nicely together through the nose at this point. Construction remains impressive in all aspects." -Matt Cade (CADE)87.5Mild-MediumLight-Medium"The final third plays out much like the middle portion, with the hefty cedar muscling any other flavors on the draw out of the way. The retrohale continues to impress with that nice balance of pepper and mineral. The strength via the nose also takes a slight upkick into borderline medium territory towards the end of the smoking experience. Construction was impeccable from start to finish." -Matt Cade (CADE)97.5"This cigar had a draw like a dream from start to finish." -Matt Cade (CADE)95"This cigar featured a damn near perfect burn line and a solid, beautiful ash." -Matt Cade (CADE)92.5"This was a fabulously constructed cigar from top to bottom with a consistently smooth draw, strong ash, and no burn issues whatsoever." -Matt Cade (CADE)90"Occasionally, if I’m having a good day, I’ll give decent marks to a cigar that on any other day I might write off as boring. Very few discernible flavors, no transitions, very little complexity overall... and today is one of those days. I enjoyed this cigar quite a bit! 8/22/2020 21:48:45Kevin A. Kevin A.)103092.5"What a great looking cigar! Shiny caramel colored wrapper rolled into a a perfect torpedo. The seams are tight and invisible, with just a few thin raised veins throughout. The cap is very nicely applied, and you have to look close to see seam for it. The cigar is firm from foot to cap which says is should be nicely filled." -Kevin A. (Kevin A.)90"The aroma coming from the foot is primarily sweet. There is primarily vanilla and honey, with cinnamon bringing a little spice. There is also the slightest grassiness in the background. The body of the cigar doesn't have quite as much sweetness and is more of a sweet natural tobacco, with a hint of barnyard. The prelight draw seems a little tight and I might need to cut just a bit more off the cap, but it is not too tight at the moment. There are notes of green tea, which is slightly sour, along with hay and floral. I am excited to get this one fired up!" -Kevin A. (Kevin A.)87.5MediumMedium"The cigars starts off with notes of black tea and hay, with a floral note on the finish. The retrohale is dominated by white pepper, that gives a surprising little zing to the senses. It is not a powerful pepper burn, more of a sweet pleasant one that grabs your attention. Getting a little farther along, an orange zest appears on the palate, hitting firmly on the sides of the tongue. Draw and burn are both spot on, which means I had no reason to doubt my cutting skills at the beginning. Maybe I really do know what I'm doing LOL. Smoke output is not very heavy, but that doesn't seem to impact the amount of flavor notes the cigar is putting out." -Kevin A. (Kevin A.)87.5MediumMedium"Flavors really don't transition much throughout the second third, which is not a bad thing. The flavors blend together nicely, the burn and draw are good, and it is making for a nice, pleasurable smoking experience that is medium in strength and body." -Kevin A. (Kevin A.)87.5MediumMedium"About the only change in flavors I am picking up is an overall buttery creaminess has crept in and blends everything together on the finish. Burn and draw have remained consistently good, with not even the slightest wave in the burn line." -Kevin A. (Kevin A.)95"Excellent start to finish" -Kevin A. (Kevin A.)92.5"This cigar burned like a star! " -Kevin A. (Kevin A.)90"Great draw, and burn combined with great flavors show good construction! " -Kevin A. (Kevin A.)90"I enjoyed this cigar. It had an overall bakers spice sweetness to it mixed with some green tea, and developed and rich buttery sweetness at the end, giving it minimal transitions, but keeping things interesting. Normally, one dimensional cigars are not my thing, but this is one of those that you just don't want to put down. Medium in strength and body, this is a cigar that can be enjoyed by anyone. It would make an excellent start to your weekend with a nice cup of cold brew coffee with sweet cream. 104
