NOTES
39
*All courses taken for the major must be taken for a letter grade if that option is offered by the instructor.
40
*Minimum Combined GPA for all courses in Engineering Topics (Engineering Fundamentals and Depth courses) is 2.0.
41
*Transfer and AP credits in Math, Science, Fundamentals., & TiS must be approved by the SoE Dean's office. Transfer credits in Depth must be approved by the advisor. AP & transfer credit information & petitions are available at https://ughb.stanford.edu/transfers-ap-exceptions.
42
*All courses listed on this form must only be included under one category. Delete courses not taken.
43
( 1 )A score of 4 on the Calc BC test or 5 on the AB test only gives students 6-8 units, not 10, so is equal to MATH 19+20 but not 21. If the math placement exam places into CME 100/MATH 51, student may petition to waive 2 units math. A score of 5 on the AP Calculus BC test is equivalent to 10 units.
44
( 2 )It is recommended that the CME series (100, 102, 104) be taken rather than the MATH series (51, 52, 53). If you are taking the MATH series, it is strongly recommended to take CME 192: Introduction to MATLAB.
45
( 3 )AP Physics C credit (score of 5) may be used but assumes placement into PHYSICS 41 via the Physics Diagnostic, taken prior to entering SU Aut quarter.
46
( 4 )For a list of alternative approved TiS courses, see the Courses page on the UGHB website at ughb.stanford.edu. The course must be on the SoE-approved list the year you take it.
