Math League Jen AlbuquerqueMath League allows students the opportunity to participate in a challenging activity of math problems in a competitive setting. Students participate in six meets throughout the year on the second Thursday of each month from November through April. Ability Bridge Ability Bridge Foundation is a student run nonprofit organization that is working to end the stigma surrounding disabilities, spread inclusion, positivity and awareness while also raising money for the Smithfield Special Education Department as well as families in need that have children with disabilities. Science OlympiadSamantha ArmstrongThis group meets from September through April to prepare for two large state competitions. The first is at Brown University in February and the second is at Rhode Island College in April. Students compete in a wide array of science tasks such as tests on their science knowledge or competing in a building challenge. Students compete with some of the brightest kids in RI, Massachusetts and from states across the country. We meet in room 140 and in the wood shop weekly. The particular days depend on which topic you are competing in and on your other school activities. Weekly club meetings are Thursday from 2-2:30 in room 140.bahzdxm
