7 | Wellness is defined as a healthy way of life that allows you to make responsible decisions and lifestyle choices. The five components of wellness are as follows: physical, mental, spiritual, emotional, and social. The physical wellness component involves the ability to maintain a healthy lifestyle which allows you to fulfill day to day activities without fatigue. The mental wellness component deals with one's emotional, psychological, and social well-being. The spiritual wellness component involves finding meaning in life. This provides a sense of direction in life which will influence growth and open mindedness. The emotional wellness component involves controlling, managing, and expressing emotions appropriately and comfortably. The social wellness component involves interacting with others successfully, while balancing your physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual health. | |||||||||||
