To take a 25% lump sum at retirement or not ? Well, the lump sum will be tax-free, and by reducing the weekly income from

your combined pensions (including state pension) you'll pay less income tax if your income exceeds the personal tax allowance

for your circumstances. Why pay more tax than you should ? It's your choice, but I say "live a little..."
