3/26/2017 11:59:15(5:45)Luke MortonFor the journal writing do we type it in MLA or APA format ? and do we produce a work cited page along with the journal entry for the sources we use on the subject we write about ?some entries will require an MLA-style Works Cited

3/26/2017 19:34:32(5:45)Arlene OrtizIn the past, my journal entries have not had any type of structure. It was always free-writing on the given topic. Free-writing was always my favorite form of writing because it helped get everything that was on my mind, down on paper. Later I would structure it and create an essay. Would free-writing still be acceptable as a journal entry? No, but you can write more than the journals I require, and for those you could free-write

3/27/2017 19:51:38(2:15)Genesis Chiriboga Will the journal include our own opinion about the topic or is just an explanation of the topic? YES

9/26/2017 22:11:19(2:15)Trisha KimI love the idea of web-based writing as they are easily accessible. However, as a hands-on learner, a physical book or textbooks are much needed for me!
It is great, none-the-less to have the option of having digital documents.
Also, regarding the journal entries, I was wondering if there should be indentations?
Sure. Or not. Depends on you.

9/27/2017 23:33:32(2:15)Frank CollWhat I found interesting in "Online Writing = 21st Century Writing" is that if you go back hundreds and even thousands of years this is what writers were doing and trying to do except with the only tools and platforms they had back then. A writers underlying goal or motivation is to share their thoughts, feelings, and ideas with an audience in order to obtain a response and for someone to benefit. The many forms of online writing today is like an accelerated version of ancient writing. The fact that writers are no longer limited to sharing their thoughts and ideas with just those in their town or country and no longer have to painstakingly write on stone, clay, or papyrus is amazing.
Interesting.

9/28/2017 0:01:53(2:15)Frank CollThat's one of the draw backs of online writing, hitting the return button by mistake before finishing a thought as I just did and it going live. So to continue my response on "21st century writing", I think its great but there still has to be that same passion and sense of responsibility in writing and expressing ourselves as someone who sits and completes something thoroughly from start to finish. I think that a couple of drawbacks to "online writing in the 21st century" is that many may rush thoughts or feelings impulsively without thinking it through with the idea that words can be changed anytime or they can write hurtful things and have an instant huge audience. If done correctly and responsibly as mentioned in the article, "online 21st century writing" can be very beneficial for all involved. My thoughts on "Requirements and Tips for journals" is that the points mentioned actually help complete the entry and make it come to life. The words expressed by the writer are important but the extra details add depth and completeness. As an example, the picture can be worth a thousand more words without having to write them. Good thinking

9/28/2017 17:23:03(5:45)ricky ristic1. Why use journals for a draft, or pre essay? 2. Are images mandatory for are Journals?. 3. What if I cant handle criticism ? about my essay? 1. prethinking so that the essay will be easier to write; 2. No; 3. I need more information. Are we talking being upset by a grade, by the comments, by peer comments?

9/29/2017 20:56:14(2:15)Sheyla Criollo Uzhca I like the option of sharing ideas, because yes is a great method to learn from others too. The only issue is that for example some blogs does not contain educational content, and it may be confused for some students. Sure.

9/30/2017 14:22:08(2:15)Hua PiaoThe requirements and tips that how to write a good journal entry is very helpful , it gives me a good start to organize my thoughts. One thing that I was reminded again was giving main point of my argument was important.Good. BUT the journals BEFORE Kindred will not really let you have a main point, as I am asking close reading questions (plural), so don't worry about having a main point for those.

9/30/2017 16:25:45(2:15)Conrado Medina We all know how the web tech advances are influencing our daily routine. In online writing it is well emphasized that with the arrival of digital text we have experienced important advancements in different fields. However, web-based documents as Google Docs has certainly called my attention because it facilitates not only the professors' work in school and colleges but the students can also contribute each others with their written papers. Glad to know

10/1/2017 12:07:40(2:15)GeraldoFirst, I would like to acknowledge the fact that I did not know "wiki" was a real word. Secondly, I want to ask how do you distinguish good feedback from bad? In a day of anonymity where everyone has access to be a critic, is there a standard for what solid feedback is within an online world?Good question. It is always a balance between what you know you want to say and what the reader understood. It always helps to have more than one reader, so that if they agree that something isnot that good, chances are you are not being effective in communicating.

10/1/2017 13:03:14(2:15)Ruixue FanI think there is a weakness part of online writing. Online writing would be shared to readers immediately. The writers get idea from other online writers then they write down their opinions and share it online during their writing process. If their is one mistake in one source then there would be a lot mistakes in others writing. Will this happen? This happens also in print writing; a writer makes amistake and the people reading the book repeat it in their papers. It's not innate to online writing though the immediacy is

10/1/2017 19:02:02(2:15)DoloresIt is clear that this is a new era and that is an easy way to communicate but can we trust everything they say on online writing?
Online writing is a good resource to write our journals. All you need to write a good journal, you can find on the internet. Before, we had to spend hours in the library.
I am not sure all can be found on the internet. There are many uses for the library still

10/2/2017 16:48:19(5:45)Shiva RampaulI think it's a good thing modern technology has made it so anyone can voice their opinion but being able to 'block' criticism from other individuals is the ignorance that that will continue to let bad ideas spread like wildfire.sure

10/3/2017 1:38:36(2:15)Paul HickeyI found "Requirements and Tips for Journals" helpful in pointing out what criteria are important to have in the journal or blog. I also never knew what HTML was an abbreviation for, so I enjoyed "Online writing" as well. My question is should I go back and amend my previous journal entry to reflect the points of "Requirements and Tips?" Thank you, Paul. Is your journal THAT different? If so, maybe

It gives audience an instant opportunity to read, revise and share with others.
