Sections 1118 of the No Child Left Behind Act (NCLB) requires the involvement of parents of participating children in the design and implementation of Title I projects. NCPS Policy 1310/4002 requires every Principal to develop a Parent Engagement Plan as well. A local educational agency may receive funds under this part only if such agency implements programs, activities, and procedures for the involvement of parents in programs assisted under this part consistent with this section. Such programs, activities, and procedures shall be planned and implemented with meaningful consultation with parents of participating children. Reference: Policy Code: 1310/4002 Parental Involvement

1Each school under this part shall convene an annual meeting at a convenient time, to which all parents of participating children shall be invited and encouraged to attend to inform parents of their school’s participation in Title I (if applicable) and the right of the parents to be involved. Englewood Elementary School will hold a Title I meeting on September 15, 2025 from 6 pm to 8 pm. We will gather in the Multipurpose Room with families.
During this meeting, we will review the expectations for the 25 - 26 school year, as well as our Title I documents regarding our school. In addition, we will
share our School Improvement Plan, as well as our district Student Accountability and Promotion Standards. We will share student performance from
the last few years.

2Each school shall offer a flexible number of meetings, such as meetings in the morning or evening, and may provide, with Title I or Local funds, transportation, child care, or home visits, as such services relate to parental involvement. Plan to ensure two-way communication and parents input in school decisions.

Over the course of the 25-26 school year, we will hold two meetings (one in the fall and one in the spring). We will communicate with families through
phone calls, ClassDojo, as well as reach out to parents through the means to connect with families.

3Parents should be involved in an organized, ongoing, and timely way, in planning, review, and improvement of schoolwide programs, including the planning, review, and improvement of the school parental involvement policy and the joint development of the schoolwide program plan (if applicable). Plan to promote parent involvement in the form of volunteering.

Parents are members of the School Improvement Team, and they are invited to every meeting. Notes and the system programs are shared with the
members of the School Improvement Team. The PTA is a part of the SLT meetings, and they work closely with the members to ensure that parents
are involved in the school and daily school life. In addition, we always welcome volunteering at our school to assist with our school and student life.

4Parents must be provided with timely information about programs under this part; and a description and explanation of the curriculum in use at the school, the forms of academic assessment used to measure student progress, and the proficiency levels students are expected to meet. Parents are given the feedback from the previous year’s academic results at the Title I meeting. In addition, the academic measurements will be shared
with parents during the Curriculum Nights, which are scheduled throughout the year. The Curriculum Night will serve as promotion of the student’s
academic progress early in each semester. Parents will be guided about individual student progress and proficiency of their progress and growth.
In addition, parents will be made aware of our NCPS Promotion/Retention Policy. Parents are also invited to attend through Google Meet or in person
for Parent Conferences.

5If requested, schools must provide parents opportunities for regular meetings to formulate suggestions and to participate, as appropriate, in decisions relating to the education of their children, and respond to any such suggestions as soon as practicably possible.

In addition to the Curriculum Nights, parents will have the opportunity to have Parent Conferences to discuss student’s participation in the school setting.
Parent Conferences will be offered in the Winter of 2025, as well as a needed basis to discuss the progress of students. Parents are also invited to a
ttend through Google Meet or in person for Parent Conferences. Parents are also encouraged to join our PTA. The PTA also encourages
parental involvement to aid in the decision making of the school and school events.

7Each school shall have a voice in the development with parents a school-parent compact that outlines how parents, the entire school staff, and students will share the responsibility for improved student academic achievement and the means by which the school and parents will build and develop a partnership to help children achieve State standards.

The Student-Parent-Staff compact is reviewed with and revised based on feedback from Principals, Central office, the Teacher Advisory Committee,
the Parent Advisory Committee, the Principal Advisory Committee, and the Student Advisory Committee. In addition, the NCPS places the school-parent
compact into all Elementary School agendas. Parents have to return these signed compacts to the school. The teacher also signs the agenda indicating their
commitment to guiding students to success.

8LEAs and schools shall provide assistance to parents of children, as appropriate, in understanding such topics as the State’s academic content standards and State student academic standards, State and local academic assessments, the requirements of Title I (if applicable), and how to monitor a child’s progress and work with educators to improve the achievement of their children. Parents will receive information on content standards during our Curriculum/Title I Night at the beginning of the school year. In addition, our school
offers parents topics that align with how to ensure that students are engaged in their learning through the Successful Innovations (Si4) program.
We have two evenings scheduled (one for each semester) to bring topics to aid in parental involvement in their students’ education. Parents are also
informed on the inner workings of the school at the beginning of the school year, as well as when students enter the school throughout the school year.

Parents must also be provided with information that promotes student health awareness. Parents must be provided an opportunity to participate in parental training. Constant communication at Englewood Elementary occurs through our NCPS Infinite Campus Messender 2.0 communication, emails, phone calls, and
parent conferences. In addition, we push out all school wide communication through ClassDojo and the school website. I am asking that teachers r
espond to parents in a timely manner. In addition, our PTA is a large supporter of our school, students, and staff. Parents are encouraged to be a part
of the PTA at Englewood Elementary School. Parents are also encouraged to participate in the Curriculum Night/Title I events throughout the year.
In addition, we have Parent Conference Nights to assist in communication with parents and students. Parents are also invited to attend through
Google Meet, if transportation or childcare is an issue.

11Schools should have a plan for coordination with feeder schools to assist parents with transitions (PreK to Kindergarten, 2nd to 3rd, elementary to middle, middle to high, high to postsecondary).

We have a transition day for students in Pre K and Grade 5 to go to the Middle School for a visit before they transition to Grade 6. Students are
introduced to the opportunities for electives at the middle school level during this visit. Our school counselor also reviews the registration with the
5th grade students before they complete their registration. Students transitioning to Englewood Elementary School are provided a tour of the
school before they enroll. In addition, they are able to meet with the administration and school counselor to discuss their student and any pertinent
information to assist them in transitioning to our school. Students are introduced to the building, and they are allowed to see the classrooms.

12LEAs and schools shall ensure that information related to school and parent programs, meetings and other activities is sent to the parents of participating children in a format and, to the extent practicable, in a language the parents can understand.

Parents are informed of meetings, as well as the day to day life of the school setting through our Infinite Campus messenger 2.0, Social Media -
Facebook page, and our school website. Parents also receive phone calls, texts, and emails through the Inifinite Campus and ClassDojo from the
administration regarding upcoming events at the school.
