Playing Bertrand the Talking Skull: Bertrand made a deal with Granny Fellglow and the coven years ago, agreeing to be "on call" in exchange for being given immortality. Her latest use for him was feeding him to her spiders. He will explain her plan to the players, the fact that she visited Ragmaw and likely learned the magic she's using to corrupt the forest from him, and note that the spiders have little to eat now that the forest is dead.
