SYNOPSIS: Three sinister conmen Roat, Mike, and Carlino, are about to meet their match. They have traced the location of a mysterious, valuable doll to the Greenwich Village apartment of Sam Hendrix and his wife, Susan, who is blind. When an unknown woman is murdered nearby, the situation becomes more urgent. The conmen, through a cleverly constructed deception, convince Susan that the police have implicated Sam in the woman's murder, and the doll, which she believes is the key to his innocence, is evidence. She refuses to reveal its location, and with the help of a young neighbor, figures out she is the victim of a bizarre charade. When Roat kills his associates, a deadly game of cat and mouse ensues between him and Susan. She knows the only way to survive is by playing by her rules: when darkness falls, she turns off all the lights, leaving both to maneuver until the deadly game ends.
SEEKING: a group of diverse performers from all communities
SUSAN: Female Presenting (early Mid 30’s) BIPOC/TGM performer. Has lost her vision in an accident, as an adult. Relies on her other heightened senses to navigate her new world. Resilient, resourceful when she needs to be. Trusting of other people but following her intuition when something seems ‘off’. Feisty, independent, witty, which masks vulnerability. Mostly adjusted to her new way of life, but still relies on Sam; she wants no help from Gloria. Surprises herself with her own cleverness in the end.
