Academic DishonestyPresenting the work of another as one’s own.Follow teacher classroom policies and consequences for academic dishonesty. Repeated violations may result in a loss of privileges.

Disrespect/ DefianceFailure to respond to adult requests and/or directives.
Examples: Refusal to work, sleeping/head down, talking back,chewing gum, unprepared to learn.

Inappropriate Language/ General ProfanityLanguage which is inappropriate yet not used in an abusive or threatening manner. Any direct profanity or threat towards another person would be deemed a “major” offense.

Tardy to classFailure to arrive to class on time (Periods 2-6).Attendance and AP office will monitor. Calls go home for all tardies. 7+ tardies per semester: Warning conference/time management lesson with AP
14+ tardies per semester: After school consequence, time management lesson with AP.
21+ tardies per semester: After school consequence, time management lesson with AP.
25+ tardies per semester: Loss of privileges until tardy status improves.

Tardy to schoolFailure to arrive to school on time (Periods 1).Attendance and AP office will monitor. At 6 tardies to school, AP will conference with student and parent to identify barriers to arriving to school on time. Detention - A student may be held in the AP Office or classroom during lunch (30 minutes) or after school (30 minutes, 60 minutes, 90 minutes).

Behavior Contracts–Any student who fails to comply with school and classroom expectations, after teacher and administrative interventions, will be placed on a behavior contract.

The contract will be tailored to the student’s individual needs, requiring daily check-ins with the AP and eliciting daily feedback from teachers.

In-School Suspension - Students are removed from one or more classes and work on regularly scheduled assignments in the AP office.

Loss of Privileges (LOP) -Administration reserves the right to revoke co-curricular and extracurricular activities. These privileges include, but are not limited to:athletic participation,

attendance to sporting events, dances, field trips, etc. Students may regain privileges through the serving of appropriate disciplinary assignments and/or

administrative approval.

Restorative Conference -Administration or counselors may facilitate a restorative conference in order to provide closure or correction in an instance of harm.

This conference will be organized in conjunction with administration, parents, students, and possibly other staff members impacted.

Student support intervention - Referral to counselor and/or social worker.
