This presentation explores how artificial intelligence technologies can help cities become more sustainable and environmentally friendly in the face of climate change. The discussion will focus on innovative smart city solutions designed to reduce carbon emissions, improve energy efficiency, and optimize the use of urban resources.

Special attention will be given to AI-based traffic management systems that reduce congestion and fuel consumption, as well as smart energy grids, automated lighting systems, and air quality monitoring technologies. The presentation will also examine how public transportation can become greener through digital innovation and data analysis.

Real-world examples of cities already implementing smart and sustainable technologies will be presented to demonstrate practical results and future potential. In addition, the presentation will address key challenges such as implementation costs, cybersecurity concerns, and the importance of international cooperation.

The main goal of the presentation is to show that artificial intelligence and smart technologies can play a major role in achieving global sustainability goals and supporting the climate objectives of COP31.

Climate change is one of the most serious problems of the modern world, and the Republic of Moldova is already experiencing its consequences. Over the past decades, the average annual air temperature in the country has increased, while the number of extreme weather events has grown. Droughts, heat waves, heavy rains, hail, and sudden temperature changes are becoming more frequent.

Climate change has a particularly strong impact on agriculture, which is one of the most important sectors of Moldova’s economy. Due to the lack of rainfall, the productivity of grapes, cereals, and fruit crops is decreasing. Soil conditions are also worsening, and the risk of desertification in the southern regions of the country is increasing.

The main causes of climate change are greenhouse gas emissions, deforestation, environmental pollution, and the excessive use of natural resources.

To fight this problem, it is necessary to develop clean energy, increase forested areas, use water resources wisely, and support sustainable agriculture. Environmental education also plays an important role.

The future of the climate depends on the actions of every person. Only through joint efforts can we protect nature, people’s health, and the stable development of our country for future generations
