DescriptionBloom’s taxonomy is a model for the learning process, leading to higher order thinking skills. This session shares apps that support 21st century learning. Participants will discuss in small groups ways to utilize apps.The Common Core State Standards adopted into the Ohio learning standards focus on reading, writing, speaking, research and math skills that leads to college and career readiness. This overview will share apps that support these standards, as well as resources for finding, evaluating and utilizing them.Attend this session with iMovie already download on your iPad. Get a crash course in how to shoot and edit video on the iPad. Engage in a hands-on lesson that will further your understanding and use of creating and editing videos on the iPad. Creativity is a neglected aspect of student development in today's schools. In this session participants will discuss what it means to be creative, learn about apps that can be used to facilitate creativity, and develop a creative mini-project using the iPad.This session will focus on approaches to teacher productivity with the iPad. Participants will learn about and engage in hands-on activities with apps that will faciliate organization, communication, document management, and professional reading and development.Don't let the rush to get iPads into your classroom precede the careful planning that's so crucial to iPad implementation and their success as educational tools. This workshop will address topics like managing devices, buying and deploying apps, managing user profiles, storing & submitting work, and dealing with damage & theft. The presenter will also address what to do when students out number iPads in the classroom. In this session we will focus on using a free tool from Apple, Apple Configurator. Apple configurator is a tool that allows you to setup, configure, update iPads en masse. We will discuss how to deploy applications, push out preferences, and update devices. In this session we will showcase several free IOS management tools such as Meraki, Apple Configurator, and simpleMDM that will make your life much easier! We will also discuss application deployment and the Apple Volume Purchase program.Join us as we explore many iPad apps that are being used in pre-k through 2nd grade classrooms including apps for the common core standards and different content areas. We will create stories in Scribble My Story and Sock Puppets, and use apps like Scoot Pad, Educreations, Storia and more.The iPad is a powerful tool in literacy instruction through the power of apps to differentiate instruction for students. Learn best practices for integration of the iPad in grades 4-12 Common Core aligned ELA instruction.Receive an overview of free digital storytelling apps. Divide into groups by subject area and/or grade level and create a storytelling project you can utilize in your classroom.Examine how to to use Skype, Twitter, and Edmodo in creative ways in the classroom. Students can connect with peers, your community and others for collaboration on a variety of topics and students stay up to date by using the latest technologies.Explore ways to utilize the iPad in the Science classroom while keeping the best of the best science practices alive. Hands on, STEM focused, iPad enriched classrooms are waiting! Join me to find high yields iPad apps for your students to grow with.Using the iPad to meet various student needs and levels is a key way to utilize the tool. Whether you have 1 iPad, a small set, or work in a 1:1 setting, this session will brainstorm real ways to differentiate education for your students. Don't leave the iPad Symposium unfulfilled! Take this one last opportunity to ask a panel of Apple Distinguished Educators your final questions. You have an opportunity to engage in a “Q&A” dialogue with the panelists as they attempt to answer questions concerning iPads, Best Practices or anything you want! Take your best shot – everything is fair game.Learn about proven apps that support science, technology, engineering, arts, and math instruction witht he iPad. Emphasis on grades 5-12.This presentation will cover applications that can assist with behavioral data collection and IEP development for students with special needs.At the un-conference, the agenda for the day is built by the participants when they show up. There are no “experts” standing at the front of the room. Everyone is a contributor. Stop by if you have iPad in education related questions and we'll try to help you find the answers.
