When can I come pay any fees and pick up my drawings?

Once your submission is approved and permits are ready to be issued, the column "Ready to be Issued" is marked "Yes". The building department is required to turn around plan reviews within 30 calendar days. However, on small-to-medium submissions, we shoot for 10-15 calendar days. Larger and more complex submissions requiring multiple entities to review will likely take longer..

Initial Processing or Only Building Review RequiredThe building department received the drawings. If routing to other entities is required (Engineering, Fire, Master Plans Examiner, Health, Planning), they are being bundled up and prepared to be distributed. We generally try to do this the same day plans are submitted, however, depending on when in the day the plans are submitted this can take up to one business day. For those submissions that do not need to be routed, the plans will remain in this stage until a determination is made.

Routed for ReviewsPlans have been distributed for review to internal and external entities. Typically via interoffice mail and courier service to external reviewers. The actual routing of the plans typical add several days to the total process. The time it takes for these external reviews varies greatly based on submission type and scope. The typical turnaround time is typically 10 business days.

All Routed Plans Returned, Under Final Building Department Review.Once all routed plans have come back the Building Commissioner, who has ultimate sign-off, reviews the comments and makes the final determination. During this stage if an approval, the building fees are also calculated and the drawings are prepared for pickup. Once everything is ready, the applicant is notified.

Genetic Code of Unique Identifier

Each new submission gets assigned a unique new number. Any follow-up submissions (i.e. Addendums) directly related to the initial submission get assigned a decimal number related to the first. The breakdown of the Genetic Code of the Unique Identifier is further explained below:
