To start off our knotty summer, we'd like to take a few minutes to to share some basic convention information including event rules and code of conduct, digital etiquette, technical tips and some class and special event details! After that, those of us who would like to chat with some of their fellow con-goers will have a chance to do so at our virtual Meet and Greet. Conversations will be quick and light and a warm-up for the weeks ahead!

Rebroadcast Note
The fun part of this night cannot be captured and reproduced but Ozma's hot take on rules and regulations and some general convention announcements will be available after for attendees who can't make it at this time. Enjoyability of this content will depend on if you have a fetish for awkward public speaking and/or rules and regulations. MxBliss will also have a few announcements about the party on the 10th and those should be much more exciting.

June 27		"Rope-Playing Rope Disasters: The Home Edition" with Jake Wing12:00 PM1:00 PM2:00 PM3:00 PM90 minWhen I teach rope 101 to people, I tell them "If you have a person bound and helpless, you are responsible for their safety. You should have a plan for what to do if the building you're in catches fire."
In this class we'll talk about that plan.

What do you do when your rope partner faints? Does your cutting tool actually cut? What if the lights go out? What do you do when up-lines jam?

We’ll give some thought to how to handle disasters if you’re bound as well. What if your rigger faints? What if you're self tying and you drop your cutting tool?
We're going to try to answer all of these questions and more. Jake will have an indestructible "rope bottom", so he can demonstrate some of the WRONG ways to do things and how to rectify those situations.
This will be a discussion workshop where we can think about and talk about potential disasters. Then maybe we'll be a little bit mentally prepared if something bad does happen.

June 27		"Creating Amazing Scenes: It’s all in the setup" with Midori2:00 PM3:00 PM4:00 PM5:00 PM90 minLet’s all get some hotter, better play! Midori will share with you her tried and tru strategy for maximizing the Wow, and minimizing the Bummers in your scene.
Have you felt like you might be missing the mark on full satisfaction? Felt mildly let down or disappointed? Frustrated that you don’t quite understand what other person wants? Do you feel like you’re often hesitating or doubtful during play? Have you felt misunderstood or that you misunderstood them?

So much of being confident in play and sex has to do with how we set up the experience, understand what you and your partner really want, and becoming fully present.

Come to this class to find out what's between the lines and under the skin. There's so much more to amazing scenes than just knowing how to use the tools.
Whether you are a seasoned top, experienced bottom, novice to topping or new to bottoming, this class will share with you what you can do before the scene to maximize scene success and increase confidence.

Learn about the essential questions the person topping should ask.
Find out the questions the person bottoming should ask to prepare for a great scene.
*She will be asking for a volunteer from the attendees for an authentic conversation

June 28		"Exploring Edges" with Ina Pickle12:00 PM1:00 PM2:00 PM3:00 PM90 minEveryone has an idea of what “Edge ‘Play” is and whether or not they participate in that sort of thing. In this class Ina Pickle looks at edges as the perimeter of sensations and emotions that we ALL play with in BDSM. Ina will talk about their experience as someone who likes to play close to their edges and how they access them, either in collaboration/negotiation with a partner or on their own. Participants will be led in an exercise based in Yin Yoga, a practice that Ina finds useful in exploring their own edges, especially in practices of self play. Ina hopes that participants in this class come away with a new insight into how they experience sensation and emotion in play. Participants will need access to a reasonably firm flat surface that they can comfortably do a limited amount of movement on. The movements participants will be guided in will call for support, ideally participants have access to a yoga bolster and blocks as well as 1-2 blankets. Ina will show how the prop is used, and will offer suggestions on how the pillows, blankets, and/or cushions that participants have available can be used to provide the same or similar support.

June 28		"Intertwined: A Self Tying Ritual for Queer and Trans Folx" with Nil7:00 PM8:00 PM9:00 PM10:00 PM90 minJoin Nil for a pride-centric healing ritual where we will celebrate our queer and trans magic while holding space for the complexity of our experiences and identities. In this all levels self-tie along experience, we will explore the relationship between our identities and rope and how to find headspace to center and heal with ourselves. Using shape, textures, sensation, and intention we will self tie together to create a space to nourish ourselves through rope while discovering different ways to utilize rope as a tool for catharsis and connection. This class is for folx of all levels. Rope is needed (any kind you tie with). A familiarity with single column ties and basic frictions is helpful but not necessary.

This class is for self identified queer and trans folx only. QTBIPOC attend for free.

July 10th		"Jiffy Kink Speed Dating: ROPECRAFT HomeBound Edition" with Mx Bliss6:00 PM7:00 PM8:00 PM9:00 PM90 min"Making connections in the Age of COVID Jiffy Kink Speed Dating—ROPECRAFT HomeBound Edition is a virtual social gathering, hosted by Mx Bliss, designed to help you meet new friends and potential play partners in a low stakes/high engagement environment. Whether you are sheltering alone or with partners/friends/family, this is a unique opportunity to meet new like-minded ropesters who are there to connect with folks like you. It's also a great opportunity to meet folks who will be at the Jiffy Kink Play Party the next day!
While the format is subject to change to balance larger group games/interaction versus individual conversations (and if we do so, we will notify registrants ASAP), you should be prepared to share:

1) a source of joy in lockdown,
2) a means to contact you,
3) what you are looking for in play partners (including gender preferences, tops/bottoms/switches, level of experience, etc.),
4) what kinds of play you enjoy, and
5) how you identify (i.e., orientation, top/bottom/switch, pronouns, etc.).

We have activities/games where attendees an opportunity to participate and share insights, stories, and strut their stuff. During all the interactions, you will track folks you’d like to have follow on conversations with or folks you are open to receiving contact from for virtual play negotiations. During the event, we will facilitate as many “Jiffy Kink Seven Minutes in Heaven” rooms as we can where folks who match real time will be ‘whisked’ away for a 1:1 conversation to get to know one another better.
Everyone who registers consents to be contacted by other participants and agree to the rules below focused on consent, privacy, and kindness. It’s my hope and expectation that folks will meet new online friends and make connections (albeit online connections) that will translate into greater connection, friendships, and community in the near term and more dirty, kinky fun when we aren’t social distancing anymore. You can use this time to identify folks you'd like to negotiate online play with at the Jiffy Kink Play Party the next day! Register early as ‘seating’ is limited. If demand is great, we may host a second session.
Come prepared to meet people across the gender and kink spectrum; your open-mindedness, eagerness to expand your friend circle, and curiosity are welcome here! This is an inclusive event for LGBTQ, pansexual, straight, and exploring folks. Prior rope or kink experience is not necessary.

**Rules:**
1) Kindness, consent, and a willingness to meet new friends.
2) Privacy: each participant agrees NOT to take screen shots or pictures during the event and will do everything possible to respect the privacy of other participants. People are taking a chance and putting themselves out there…be kind and don’t talk shit about what other participants say or do in JK. What happens at Jiffy Kink stays at Jiffy Kink!
3) If contacted by other participants, you have the choice to respond or not but you do agree to check your inboxes and be friendly. While not required, a courtesy thank you or willingness to make a new online buddy (if not play compatible) is encouraged.
4) If you send a message and do not hear from the featured participant ABSOLUTELY DO NOT send another message or try to contact them another way. If they tell you ‘thanks but no thanks’ then you must leave that person alone. If you try to contact a person multiple times and I find out, there will be hell to pay.
5) I strongly encourage everyone to exercise social distancing until this shit is over. Also, since we don’t have public events in the near term I encourage lots of caution before meeting up. Meeting up with people privately when I’ve only met them online is outside of my risk profile.

July 11th		"The Perfect Accessory for Every Outfit” with Kim Lee3:00 PM4:00 PM5:00 PM6:00 PM90 minCalling all artsy-fartsy crafters! Rope can be the perfect medium for creative expression. Or the perfect accessory to your banging outfit at the party. Let’s get imaginative and talk about how to create beauty that gives the illusion of bondage while still being safe to walk around in. We’ll go over different rope techniques to create the look you’re going for and we’ll play around with decorative chest harnesses. There will be a short discussion of safety and techniques before two tie-along harnesses that can be easily adapted for multiple body types. Class is for tying pairs as well as singles.

Prerequisites: None
Materials and Equipment: 5-30’ lengths of rope (any material), other materials such as ribbon, cloth, or feathers also highly encouraged

We are working to reschedule RiverFern's content to an alternate date and format due to unexpected issues. We support her in her decision. We will be working with her as she is able and available to present her class content in an alternate format with details and timing forthcoming there. We are so grateful to Magnolia for stepping up to share her wealth of rope bottoming knowledge with our group this evening! Fun fact: Magnolia was the first ROPECRAFT-related person that Ozma met in Texas back at our very first event back in 2016.

A more formal description of this class is forthcoming, but for now I can share that this class is open to everyone and foundational knowledge for folks who enjoy the practice of being tied or who would like to.

July 11th		Jiffy Kink Play Party: ROPECRAFT HomeBound Edition with Mx Bliss8:00 PM9:00 PM10:00 PM11:00 PMtbdWho misses public play and the opportunity to meet new people and catch up with old friends/acquaintances? Yeah, me too! Join us for a facilitated online play party where we will try to replicate some of the joys of the dungeon from the safety of our homes. In the main ‘dungeon’ we will have meet and greet games and some featured scenes and performances. There will also be several ‘breakout dungeons or lounges’ where you can have a more intimate experience with a smaller group. There will be a lounge for folks wanting to play with folks they met at Speed Dating or to meet new play partners. We will also have a few special interest rooms where folks can negotiate online play, self-tie, or discuss various aspects of rope play.

Participants from the Jiffy Kink Speed Dating will automatically be registered for and have a reserved ticket to the Play Party. Other registrants of RopeCraft HomeBound will be eligible to participate on a first-come, first-served basis. Tickets are capped so register early! In order to participate, we will need to pre-assign some of the breakouts so you will be prompted a day or two in advance to make some selections and to expressly agree to the rules of the Play Party.

Please email Mx Bliss at mxBlissmx@gmail.com if you are willing to perform (burlesque, erotic poetry reading, a rope scene, a self-tie, etc.) in the main dungeon or in a breakout dungeon!

It allows us to move with ease, tie confidently, and stay engaged with our partners rather than fiddling with our rope. This class will include various exercises to improve the ways we move our rope and our bodies, as well as provide tips and tricks on how to utilize this knowledge to improve the flow of a scene.

To get the most out of this class, you will need 3-5 natural fiber ropes 25-30 ft and to know how to tie a non-collapsing single column cuff.

Whether you’re looking for basic bondage for the bedroom, or your goals are more lofty, this is where to start. In this class we will focus on the basics of rope bondage. Toga will start with basic terms and skills to build upon, including column ties and a simple chest harness. He will cover some basic safety knowledge for both tops and bottoms.

They send graphic and unsolicited messages, they don't read profiles, and they make inappropriate assumptions. Many of us can agree on this. However, what about the well-intended folks that might be slightly socially awkward, shy, or otherwise unsure how to not come off as the dreaded "creepy" person. We will investigate questions such as: "how do I get invited to play parties and keep getting invited back?"And "Why do "nice" messages sometimes go unanswered?" During this session, attendees will learn appropriate and respect ways of approaching, negotiating and interacting with fellow kinksters. We will refine our current techniques while having a good laugh over some of the missteps we've all made. In addition we will practice drafting messages that may get a positive response and appropriate munch/non-play party event behavior and how to guide new attendees or yourself into this direction. Please bring an open mind and a good sense of humor!

July 18th		"Demystifying Neurotypicals: Autism and Rope" with Kasai Usagi4:00 PM5:00 PM6:00 PM7:00 PM90 minAs research and acceptance around autism grows, so does the number of people properly diagnosed. Kink attracts people with autism because of its connection to sensory input, explicit communication boundaries, and out-of-the-box thinking. In this class, Kasai Usagi will go over fundamental vocabulary concerning neurodiversity, briefly explain how neurodiversity merges with social constructs, give explicit accommodation methods for how people with differently-abled brains can negotiate a rope scene, and recommend specific considerations for both sides of the slash. The last 30 minutes or so of the class will be opened up for group discussion. Class will model specific accommodations for neurodiversity including visual aides, flexible seating options, explicit verbage, and chunked instruction to allow for processing time. Instructor would like to notify those attending the class who classify as "neurotypical" (as in, no specific neurodivergent diagnosis) please make space for their neurodivergent classmates by accepting these accommodations without comment.

Whether you're a top or a bottom trying to keep your rope skills intact during the apocalypse, this class will go over some fundamental tips for self-tying and explain how you can use it to stay in shape as a rigger or rope bottom. Enthusiastic self-tyers are certainly welcome and may pick up some tips, but this class is aimed at folks who are much more reluctant. We'll also discuss the process of transitioning out of habitual self-tying and back into being tied/tying others.

If you're interested in Topping/Dominating but don’t know where to start or don't have a sadist bone in your body, then this class is for you! Are you a bottom but want to explore life on the other side of the slash? Are you a switch with limited experience? Would you like to learn to service Top? This class is designed to give folks new to or uncomfortable with topping some basic safety, negotiation, and tools to become a more confident and competent Top. We will go over some basic impact and bondage safety with demos. But more importantly, we will talk through how to achieve the mindset and confidence to be the kind of Top you want to be (and who will be wanted as a play partner). You’ll walk out of the class with tools to discern the type of Top you are (or aspire to be) and some examples of how to actualize your ideal ‘Top state.’ You will also walk out of the class with a basic negotiation framework that will help you confidently execute a scene.

Mx Bliss will demo some toys that will delight your quarantine crush, a few practical skills for bottoms who like impact and bondage play, and cover an online negotiation framework. In addition to discussing how/why online consent is different, Mx Bliss will share tips to compensate for the lack of touch and smell. Attendees will be put into breakouts to practice negotiation and play skills. Then the group will reconvene to share ideas for fun/hot online scenes.

How do we find the vulnerability within ourselves as Rope Tops and Bottoms to build a connection with our skill set?
When we tie, we often want to invoke emotional responses from both yourself as a Rigger and from your rope Bottom which can create a powerful private or public scene that isn’t about sex. We can create emotion from music, breathing, space, closeness..right down to how we handle the rope. Even sometimes, the choice of what rope we use. This workshop is about learning how to be vulnerable within rope, both as a Rigger and a Rope Bottom through a specific activity to help bring that inner self to the surface.

Prerequisites and Materials: Single Column Tie, Basic Friction Knots, Minimum Two Lengths of Rope

The ethics, practices, and aftercare of shadow edgeplay and eroticizing darkness will be discussed and participants will be challenged to question what their own shadow contains. We will explore common edgeplay desires including consensual non-consent, dark age play, blood play, and beyond and discuss the psychology behind their appeal as well as risk aware avenues for expressing these desires. This class offers a comprehensive look into how to flirt with our inner darkness and come through on the other side.

Extreme science nerd Shay will provide a broad overview of their favorite kink-related (or kink-applicable, or even just too damned interesting to leave out) studies and geeky tidbits, and relate these to a ridiculously broad array of BDSM topics. From cognitive biases to hedonic reversal to the vagus nerve to pain processing to vector forces to mirror neurons, we'll examine questions as basic as "why are we into this kinky stuff, anyway" and as specific as "why shouldn't I string a line between two trees and use it as a hardpoint?" We'll even include a live (optional) participatory study, with a graph of the results! For science!

Frictions and knots serve many purposes and some fit certain needs better than others. In this class we will explore the purpose and function of many of the frictions and knots we use in our ties, including half hitches, munters, full turns, L-frictions and half moons. A basic, single column knot class is recommended prior to this class.
