¹ Colorado Taxable Income (CTI) includes out-of-state income for part-year residents and nonresidents, as it is not apportioned to Colorado. CTI can be positive, zero, or negative. CTI is negative when losses and/or subtractions exceed income and additions.

² Colorado Gross Tax is calculated by multiplying positive CTI by the income tax rate. The tax is calculated only on income received in Colorado or from sources within Colorado. To find the positive CTI subject to tax, divide the Colorado Gross Tax by the income tax rate.
