FUNDING

LTN uses a method called Collaborative Funding, our unique approach to fundraising allows people from all walks of life and financial backgrounds to participate in urban missions. Our Team Members support each other by compiling the money they raise into one pile to care for each other.
No one is in debt at the end of their term if you are not able to fully fundraise. You will have the exact same experience regardless of your ability to fundraise. No one is turned away based on how much or little they can fundraise. You do not have to be fully funded by the time you arrive. You will continue to fundraise during your time of service. LTN will also provide a Support Raising Guide to assist with fundraising.
HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?

*Summer Team Members raise $2,700. That is $900/month and includes fully-furnished housing, groceries, in-town transportation, curriculum and a monthly living allowance. This cost essentially covers your living expenses while you are serving with us.
We are evangelical Christians but not connected to a certain denomination. We just ask interns to sign our Statement of Faith: http://lovethyneighborhood.org/faith/

ABOUT

The Shawnee Christian Healthcare Center (SCHC) seeks to transform the community by sharing the love of Christ in word and deed, to facilitate community development and holistic healthcare through the empowerment of the residents in the community.

Neighborhoods can no longer be thought of as individuals with many needs and problems, but rather as diverse groups of individuals with many gifts and assets. Every neighborhood has a unique set of skills and capacities that can be utilized for community development. Most neighborhoods address social and economic problems with only a small amount of their total capacity. SCHC’s goal is to engage everyone; everyone has something to offer! SCHC seeks to care for the whole person. True transformation occurs when every resident has access to opportunities that encourage hope and ensure their self-sufficiency.
