| 4 Day | See 4 Fields Intensive Training.
| 4 Fields Intensive (Training) | The 4 Fields Intensive training is usually trained over a 4 day period, and that is why we sometimes call it a "4 day" for short. If leaders have already received basic 4 fields L1-2 training, it is sometimes appropriate to shorten the 4 day to 3 days. | Hosting a 4 Day
| 4 Fields | The 4 Fields of Kingdom Growth is a framework for visualizing the 5 things Jesus and his leaders did to grow the Kingdom of God: entry, gospel, discipleship, church formation, and leadership. This can be discovered from Mark 1. It follows the model of the parable of the farmer entering new fields, sowing seed, watching it grow even though he knows not how, and when the time is right, cutting and bundling the harvest together (Mark 4:26-29). The farmer works with the reminder that it is God who gives the increase (1 Corinthians 3:6-9). Like Jesus and his leaders, we need to have a plan for each field, but it is God's Spirit that causes the growth. The 4 fields is usually trained sequentially, but in practice, the 5 parts happen simultaneously. We develop 4 Fields Plans for given contexts to train and coach reproducing, biblical, zero-budget tools with the principles needed to undergird them in a church planting movement. As a pattern, no more than 2 reproducing tools are used within each field. Tools should be selected based on what is reproducing to the 4th generation in the context or a near-culture context. Leaders are coached to regularly ask the question, "What is working and what is not working in getting from one field to the next?" in order to evaluate and adjust accordingly. We also use 4 fields as a hermeneutic and 4 Fields Intensive trainings for discovering Jesus and Paul's patterns for kingdom expansion. | #N/A
| 4th Generation | A disciple from the 3rd Generation church is mobilized to start the 4th generation church.
| 5 Levels of Leadership | A framework we use for visualizing the 5 types apostolic leaders in Acts and in church planting movements today; 5 levels is used to coach leaders. L1 - Seed Sower (SS) L2 - Church Planter (CP) L3 - Church Plant Multiplier (CPMer) L4 - Movement Trainer (MT) L5 - Strategy Coordinator (SC) Ideally, leaders develop from one level to the next. It is a "Timothy tool" that is only intended for leaders who are practicing the 4 fields tools. 5 levels fits under the 5th part of the 4 fields strategy: leadership development. 5 levels is used to structure both residential and non-residential training and coaching rollouts. For each level, there are "vision casts", "tools", Bible discovery "modules", character traits, and competencies that are used to expand the vision of each leader, coach them and help them coach their leaders. We have these organized into a 5 levels "toolbox" that is used for L1-2 trainings, 4 Fields Intensive trainings, Midlevels, Strategy Coordinator trainings, and ongoing coaching. This is not a framework for developing shepherd-teachers or elder/pastors; L5 leaders are equipped with Foundations and Confessions for further developing these equally essential, more locally focused leaders. | 5 Levels of Leadership Toolbox
| 5 Parts | The 5 things we see Jesus and his leaders doing repeatedly to expand the Kingdom of God: entering new areas, sharing the gospel, discipling those who believe, gathering them into new churches, and raising up leaders who can do the same. The strategy for doing these 5 things is simple, biblical, reproducing, and zero budget. In the West, it is best to begin explaining 4 fields using the 5 parts and then pull out the Mark 4:26-20 parable. In the East, it is best to begin explaining the 4 fields using the Mark 4:26-29 parable. | Four Fields of Kingdom Growth
| APE/ST | From Ephesians 4:11, Apostle, Prophet, Evangelist, Shepard (Pastor), Teacher. APEs tend to be more pioneering, focusing on expanding the kingdom among new believers. STs tend to be more focused on depth and health of the disciples and churches, focusing on the same people over longer periods of time. | APE/ST
| Backwards Bike Principle | A principle based an experiment performed by "Smarter Every Day" where the host learns to ride a backwards bike. Unlearning something you have always done is hard. Church leaders discover doctrine from the word and write doctrinal statements around which they form networks of churches. | Confessions Manual
| Contextualization | When a culture outsider attempts to tweak training content based on what they think will reproduce with cultural insiders; this is sometimes necessary when there are no existing believers nearby with whom to indigenize the training, but is not nearly as effective as indigenization (compare to Indigenization).

Like with the Church Circle, symbols for church functions / Commands of Christ are left outside the circle unless they are being obeyed by someone other than the church planter(s). Traditionally, these are done on paper. An app called the "gen mapper app" has been developed that is helpful for maintaining gen maps. | Generational Mapper
