I took the entire list of officers from KIU (including reserve and retired officers)

I filtered out everything that was between brackets "()" and the remaining names if the brackets were in the middle

I searched (VLOOKUP) the resulting name in 666_mancer's list and output the DoD

I searched (query with operator "contains" of) the remainder inside a list of 600+ tweets from @KIU I managed to scrape

I searched the remaining names on Twitter, one by one, and took note of the DoD when available in either the tweet, replies or source of info provided

(a lot of names didn't produce a Tweet from KIU)

I truncated the remaining names to only the first 2 names and redid the manual search

(there were still over 80 names that didn't produce a tweet from KIU)

I don't know why, but sometimes Twitter won't find a tweet even if the spelling is identical

Sometimes the date displayed is after a known funeral, but most cases are of death within just a few days of the funeral OR the date is the same as the date of announcement that the officer died

If there's no supporting evidence that the death occured on the same date as the announcement it's removed

If there's almost no information about the death circumstances or the deceased and it's dated within 2 days of the publication, the DoD is removed. Exception: if the DoD is in February or March and within 1 day of date of publication, the DoD is kept because the odds of being in the wrong week are a lot smaller than other time periods.

If the listed DoD is within 5 days of the funeral, it's removed unless there's supporting evidence.

That leaves 218 officers with nothing more than a publication of death notice or funeral notice (DoP)

Of which, 50 have NO KNOWN PUBLICATION. None of them have the latin-character(s) issue.

This process took over 72 hours to complete and new officers were added to KIU's list.
