Counselors review their students' schedules, compared with each students transcript to coming school year student schedule & Personal Graduation Plans (PGP), Check accuracy of testing data, gradelevel placement & Cohort placement, to determine appropriate course placement and summer school credit additions have made it onto the students transcript and that the student is scheduled into the appropriate classes for the coming school year.

Secondary Principals announce opportunity to recommend a course or change to a course at faculty meeting. Suggestions should be taken to department chairs and team leads. Campus committees meet and discuss new courses or changes to current courses to be added to course catalog. Complete all pertinent cells of the Course Proposal document in Google Docs

Oct. 21 (due)Principals are to form Master Scheduling Committees for their campus. Complete all tabs of the Master Scheduling Committees document in Google Docs.

Oct. 18 - Nov. 8Principals, Instructional Administrators, Program Directors receive electronic copy of pertinent sections(s) of the course catalog (not course descriptions) along with communication regarding the time frame for reviewing/revising their section

Principals at each campus will send out a survey to teachers on what they want to teach, wish list and preferences (Google Survey, etc…)

MarchEach Campus Master Scheduling Committee meets to begin process for their Master Scheduling of teaching assignments, verification of teaching certification, special placement of classes. Directors of Athletics, Fine Arts, & Special Services will need to give their input for either period placement and/or teaching assignments. At this time each campus would need to know the number of coaches needed in each athletic period. Director of Special Education Services would let each campus know requirements of inclusion and if facilitation would be offered.

Mar. 15 - Deadline for Master Scheduling Team to receive specific information on any course needing a particular placement (Preplaced) in Master Schedule.

April 1By 4:00 pm, Director of Bands will furnish Student Support with a spreadsheet of Rising 6th grade students that have committed to band. It will be forwarded to each middle school campus. This will be the final date for Rising 6th Grade Students to sign up for band.

April 1Coaches will furnish counselors with a preliminary list of students for Rising 7th-12th grade athletics. Campus Band Directors will furnish counselors with a preliminary list of students for placement in 7th & 8th grade bands as well as any HS specific bands. As available, HS activity sponsors provide lists of students for particular levels of: cheer, drill team, choir, theatre, AP Art/Lote, and Native/standard Spanish.

Apr. 1 - A List of Rising 6th and Rising 9th grade students who are receiving SpEd services with the level of service (inclusion/resource) or ELL students with level of services (shelter/newcomer) will be provided to the receiving campus counselors.

Schedule changes at the beginning of the year will be made only for situations out of the students' control such as scheduling errors, and alternates substituted for courses that don't make.

June/July After summer school, confirm all student schedules and transcripts reflect the courses they took in summer school (pull by summer school roster)
