The in-to-out ratio is a ratio of searches for moves in divided by searches for moves out.

A ratio greater than 1 indicates higher inflow than outflow. A ratio less than 1 indicates higher outflow.

Florida's in-to-out ratio dropped 49% from 2021 to 2022. In 2021 there were 210 moves in for every 100 headed out, that inflow dropped down to 160 moves in for every 100 out in 2022.

Tampa saw 248 moves in for every 100 out in 2021; in 2022, that ratio dropped nearly 70% down to 179 moves in for every 100 out.

Palo Alto is the only California city which features among the 25 cities seeing a surge of interest from movers in 2022. Interest in moving to Palo Alto has jumped 43.75%, from 1.06 up to a 1.5 in-to-out ratio in 2022. In other words for every 1.5 moves in there is only 1 headed out.
