Editargeol_geochron.mpkGeology of the southern Mesa Central province10/31/2021PublicationFirstThe map displays the Cenozoic geological cartography and its geochronological database of the southern sector of the Mesa Central province. The rock units are organized as lithostratigraphic and chronostratigraphic units. The layers of geochronology correspond to K-Ar, U-Pb, Ar-Ar, and fission-track ages. The map also shows the Cenozoic faults of first and second order. This work was done to integrate in a single resource the latest advance about the geological cartography of the Mesa Central province. The map is thought to be a valuable tool that will support the advancement of geological knowledge of central Mexico. Also, the integration of an updated geochonological database will serve for the establishment of stratigraphic columns supported by isotopic ages that in turn can be correlated at the province level. not knownMexicoThis license allows reusers to distribute, remix, adapt, and build upon the material in any medium or format for noncommercial purposes only, and only so long as attribution is given to the creator. Likewise, the isotopic ages are separated according to the isotopic method used to obtain them, with this information users will be able to support the stratigraphy of the area of interest. The layers of extensional structures provide an overview of the distribution and faulting patterns present in the Mesa Central.Compiled from published and unpublished geologic maps at 1:50,000 and 1:100,000 scale as indicated in the article accompanying this map.
