What is this doc?
3
This is a searchable database of Australian informal (ie not a registered organisation) mutual aid groups, organised by state. It is an initiative of In Good Faith Foundation, which supports survivors of institutional abuse, and it is intended to allow all people to rapidly find local community mutual aid resources. It is also linked to http://www.helpfulneighbours.com.au/ .
4
Go to the bottom and use the tabs to see each state. Scroll down to see each table of orgs.
5
There are safety instructions to read first, to make sure your mutual aid is done as safely as it can be!
6
Use this sheet to find your local group and help and/or get help from them. We're all in this together!
7
How can new groups be added to this doc? Can I share this doc?
8
If you'd like your group added, you can email aus.mutual.aid.database@gmail.com and we'll review the group to add it within a day!
9
You can share this database by copying and pasting this link: http://tiny.cc/9ibhlz

Brief safer helping guide to minimise infection spread:
13
1. DO NOT volunteer if you are sick, experiencing any symptoms, self-isolating due to known recent exposure, or anyone in your household is any of these things
14
2. Wear a mask and use soap-handwashing/thoroughly rubbed in hand sanitiser BEFORE, AFTER and BETWEEN all pickups and deliveries
15
3. DO NOT give lifts to vulnerable people or enter anyone's homes. Structure your volunteering for maximum physical distancing.
16
4. Leave all deliveries at the door. When calling is an option, call to tell people about the delivery.
17
5. No handshakes or hugs. You can still use words to share warmth and care :)
18
6. Keep a 6 foot distance between you and others at all times.
19
7. Tell people they need to sanitise their deliveries when they get them. If you have sanitising materials to share with deliveries, check if they are needed and then share them.
20
8. Regularly sanitise your phone, regular touch points on your vehicle like handles, bike bars and doors, and other things you touch often while doing pickups/deliveries.
21
Always give reminder instructions to helpers and folks who need help on avoiding infection via delivered items, at every stage of transport - do not presume everyone knows!
22
23
Ok, you're ready to find your group!
