Projector-All modelsImageColor fringing / Chromatic abberrationWhat is the color fringing (chromatic abberration) that I see on the edge of some text and features? The color fringing on the edges of white text is an inherent characteristic of triple-laser projector and is not a product quality issue. Since triple-laser projectors use separate RGB light sources, the narrow-band spectrum characteristics can cause slight color deviations, especially on high-contrast edges such as white text or static icons. This effect may be more noticeable on static images but is generally not perceptible during normal video playback and does not impact the overall viewing experience. We have optimized optical calibration and image processing algorithms to minimize this effect as much as possible. However, due to the physical properties of triple-laser technology, it cannot be entirely eliminated. To further reduce this phenomenon, we recommend positioning the projector as centrally as possible to the screen, avoiding side projection or extreme keystone correction, and maintaining a proper viewing distance, which can help decrease the perception of color fringing. Based on our experience, ultra-short throw (UST) triple-laser projectors exhibit more pronounced color fringing due to their unique optical design, whereas long-throw projectors have significantly mitigated this issue, making it less noticeable at a normal viewing distance.

Projector-All modelsImageRBE(Rainbow Effect)How to minimize the RBE(Rainbow Effect)?Regarding RBE(Rainbow Effect) is a common issue of DLP projector and we are optimizing the imaging method of the optical engine to reduce the generation of RBE. Currently, we have only completed the 4K part, and are working on other parts. In the future, you can get updates through OTA.

If you feel lot of RBE now, please adjust Settings->Display & Sound -> Picture -> Color -> Color Temperature to Warm2, Standard or Cool. Meantime, please try to adjust the viewing environment (such as reducing ambient light interference) or try different content to minimize the perception of the rainbow effect.

Additionally, the refresh rate of your content can significantly impact the visibility of RBE—the higher the refresh rate, the less noticeable it becomes. We also recommend trying some high-refresh-rate content to see if that makes a difference. For example, 1080p 240hz by connecting the projector to a game console or PC, 4K 60hz demo on Youtube.

*Once projector has new firmware, you will find notification thru projector menu: System > About> System Update, and upgrade firmware easily by pressing your remoter.
7
Projector-All modelsImagePixel GridHow to minimize the pixel grid effect?Pixel Grid is the natural pixel structure of the projector. Whether you’re viewing 1080p, 4K, or 8K content, if you’re sitting very close to the screen, you may notice some pixelation or the screen door effect, which is a result of the pixel grid being more visible at close range.
However, if you want to reduce the visibility of the pixels, we’d recommend enabling Ultra Sharp Mode in the projector’s settings. This will shift the image from 1080p to 4K via e-shift, which should help minimize pixelation and improve the overall sharpness of the image.
You can find this setting under Settings > Projector on the projector menu.
8
Projector-All modelsImageImage Ratio / Widescreen21:9 and 32:9 widescreen The Valerion projector supports 21:9 and 32:9 widescreen content when connected to an external HDMI device (e.g., a media player, gaming console, or laptop). Currently, this feature is available for HDMI devices that trigger ALLM (Auto Low Latency Mode). When playing widescreen content through HDMI, you can adjust the settings to fill your Cinemascope screen perfectly.

Important Notes:
1. Game Mode Required: To enable widescreen support, ensure the projector is in Game Mode. You can activate this by navigating to Menu > Picture Mode > Game Mode and accessing the Game Bar for additional settings.
2. Future Compatibility: We are actively working to expand widescreen support for all external HDMI devices in future updates.
However, please note that the projector’s built-in operating system, Google TV, is designed for 16:9 content. This means that while using apps or streaming directly through Google TV, the image will remain in a 16:9 aspect ratio and cannot be stretched to fill a widescreen format.

Projector-All modelsImageLaser SpeckleHow to minimize the laser speckle?Laser speckle is a common phenomenon in laser-based projectors, including the Valerion. While some projectors use technologies like APLD to reduce speckle, these solutions often compromise color accuracy and cannot achieve the full BT.2020 color gamut.

To help minimize speckle, we recommend the following:
- Reduce Brightness: Lowering the brightness can sometimes reduce the visibility of speckle.
- Use a Fresnel Screen: Some Fresnel screens incorporate de-speckle technology, which can enhance your overall viewing experience.
10
Projector-All modelsImageEBLWhat is EBL?The EBL feature is specifically designed to improve black levels in darker scenes, which means it only works well during the dark scene(low APL input source). In bright scenes, contrast enhancements do not create meaningful differences. To best observe the effect, we recommend testing with specific dark scenes, such as:

Movie Scene Test: During our internal testing, including on a white wall, we found that the 1-hour 49-minute mark of the 2014 movie Godzilla clearly demonstrates the impact of EBL. In this scene, the deeper blacks and improved contrast are evident.
Black Image Test: Try displaying a completely black image and compare the black levels before and after enabling EBL. Without EBL, blacks may appear slightly gray, whereas after enabling EBL, blacks should appear deeper and more refined.

The effectiveness of EBL depends on the projector model:
- Pro2 has a native contrast ratio of 4000:1, which increases to 15,000:1 with EBL enabled, making the difference most noticeable.
- Plus and Plus2 have a native contrast ratio of 3000:1, which increases to 10,000:1 with EBL enabled. The effect is still significant but slightly less pronounced compared to Pro2.

To achieve the best results:
1)Ensure your room is as dark as possible to minimize ambient light interference.
2)Adjust projector settings. By increasing laser luminance before enabling EBL, as this can enhance perceived contrast improvement.
11
Projector-All modelsImageEBLHow to test the EBL function? The EBL only works well during the dark scene(low APL input source), you can try to use the Valerion EBL test card to check it again, thanks.

How to get EBL function:
Settings>Picture>Laser Luminance>Enhanced Black Level

To achieve the best results:
1)Ensure your room is as dark as possible to minimize ambient light interference.
2)Adjust projector settings. By increasing laser luminance before enabling EBL, as this can enhance the perceived contrast improvement.

Projector-Max model onlyImageDynamic IrisWhat is Dynamic Iris?A dynamic iris is used to fine-tune the projected image by enabling the projector to enhance its on/off contrast: in other words, the difference between the brightest white when the iris is fully open and the darkest black when the iris is closed. This ensures that dark scenes are appropriately dark, while bright scenes are as bright as they can be.

Please kindly note:
1) Max&Pro series support optical zoom, and Plus series do not support optical zoom.
2) only Max model support vertical lens shifting
15
Projector-Pro&Plus onlyImageLens OffsetWhat's the lens offset of the VisionMaster Pro and Plus series?Valerion Pro and Plus models series use percentage-based vertical offset, where 100% represents the full image height. It means the entire image is projected above the projector's lens center, with the bottom edge level with the lens center.
16
Projector-All modelsImageLens ShiftDo all Vision Master models have lens shift? What is the amount of lens shift?Only the VisionMaster Max has +/- 55% vertical lens shift.
17
Projector-All modelsImageLens ShiftWhat is the difference between lens shift and lens offset? Vertical Lens Shift means that the image can be moved vertically of the total image height, above or below its original position. For example, for a 100-inch screen height of 221 cm, a +55% lens shift allows the image to shift upwards by 121.55 cm, while a -55% shift lets it move downwards by the same amount.

Vertical Lens Offset describes how the top or bottom of the image offsets from the lens’s center line. Use the top edge of the image as a starting point and the lens centerline as reference. If the top edge of the image is 100% above the lens centerline, the lens offset would be 100%.
18
Projector-All modelsImageLens ShiftDoes the Max support horizontal lens shift?VisionMaster Max do NOT support horizontal lens shift. It only has +/- 55% vertical lens shift.
19
Projector-All modelsImageResolutionWhat is the resolution for Valerion projectors? 4K?All Valerion projectors use the TI 0.47 DMD (native 1080p) with e-shift technology, enabling a true 4K resolution of 3840x2160 pixels, and they have successfully passed the 4K UHD test.

24
Projector-All modelsSoundSynchronizationHow to fix the audio-video synchronization issues?Bluetooth inherently has a latency of at least 200ms, which makes it unsuitable for video playback where audio-video synchronization is critical. For the best results, we recommend using wired connections like HDMI (eARC) or optical audio for video playback.
25
Projector-All modelsSound7.1 AudioDoes eARC support 7.1 audio internally? While Valerion projectors support eARC for 7.1 audio passthrough, it is important to note that the projector itself does not process the audio internally. The eARC feature on the projector allows 7.1 audio to be passed through to an external AV receiver (AVR) or soundbar that supports 7.1 surround sound.
However, the internal apps (such as those on Google TV) cannot decode or process 7.1 audio directly. Therefore, if you’re using the internal apps, the audio will not come through in 7.1 surround sound unless it’s routed to an external device capable of handling it.

Projector-All modelsPorts & External DeviceHDMICan I get the volume level for external audio devices? The projector does not currently display the volume level for external audio devices like your Sonos system. This is because the projector cannot directly control or detect the volume levels of external devices. For the most accurate volume adjustments, we recommend using your Sonos system’s remote or app to control the volume. While we understand the convenience of having an on-screen display, implementing this would require deep customization and integration with external devices, which is not currently supported.

45
Projector-All modelsOtherEye StrainWhat should I do if my eyes feel tired after watching the projector for a long time?Eye strain can sometimes occur when transitioning to a tri-laser projector, especially due to its higher brightness, wider color gamut, and larger screen size. Here are some recommendations to help reduce eye strain:
1)Color Temperature: Switch to Warm1 mode for a softer, warmer color tone.
2)Picture Mode: Use Theater mode, which is optimized for comfortable viewing.
3)Brightness Adjustment: Lower the laser luminance and enable EBL (Enhanced Brightness Level) to reduce overall brightness while maintaining image quality.

These adjustments should help alleviate the strain on your eye muscles. If the issue persists, we recommend taking regular breaks during extended viewing sessions and ensuring the room has adequate ambient lighting to reduce contrast strain.
46
Projector-All modelsOtherExtension Power CableExtension Power CableIf you need to use an extension cable, please use a DC cable that meets the specifications shown in the attached image. Also, the cable should be 14AWG.
- For Plus2, we recommend a length of 8 meters or less.
- For Pro2, we recommend a length of 5 meters or less.

BTW, we are developing a longer cable, will sell in our website once it's ready. Stay tuned!

48
Projector-All modelsScreenUST ALR ScreenCan I use my existing Ultra Short Throw (UST) screen with a Valerion projector? While technically possible, we do not recommend using a UST screen with Valerion's long-throw projectors for the following reason:

Light Angle Mismatch:
UST screens are designed to reflect light from extreme angles typical of ultra-short throw projectors. With a long-throw projector, the UST screen may treat the projector light as ambient, leading to:
- Significant brightness loss
- Reduced contrast and washed-out colors

Recommended Alternatives:
For best results, pair your Valerion projector with:
- Standard matte white screens (ideal for controlled lighting)
- Long-throw Fresnel screens (best for rooms with ambient light)
49
Screen-Floor risingMountingCeiling MountCould the ALR floor rising screen use with ceiling mounted projector?Valerion floor-rising screens use ALR (Ambient Light Rejection) technology, which means it is designed to block of ceiling light and works optimally when rising from the floor.
Hanging it upside down would interfere with this mechanism and cause the screen to absorb projector light as if it were ambient light, resulting in reduced image clarity.

In addition, the screen’s internal support structure is engineered specifically for floor-rising operation. Mounting it upside down puts strain on components not designed to bear weight in that orientation, which can lead to mechanical failure, deformation, or damage over time.

Installing a Valerion floor-rising screen in any orientation other than its intended use may void your product warranty.

If you're looking for a ceiling-mounted or drop-down style screen, we recommend the Valerion Backyard Weatherproof Motorized Drop-Down Screen, which is purpose-built for overhead installation.
50
All ScreenScreenScreen for 3DHow to choose a screen for the best 3D experience? For a better 3D viewing experience, it's recommend to using a high-brightness projector, such as Valerion Max and Pro series.
Additionally, pairing the projector with Valerion ambient light rejecting (ALR) screen can further enhance image brightness and deliver an improved 3D effect.
51
All ScreenScreenCeiling MountHow to ceiling mount Valerion wall-mounted screen? When hanging the projector from the ceiling, you only need to measure the distance from the ceiling to the center of the projector lens. This distance should be equal to the distance from the ceiling to the top of the screen.
Please kindly note: If you are using our Fresnel ALR screen with ceiling-mounted projector, the screen should be upside down due to the screen material structure.
