Leake Street is a pedestrianised road accessed from either York Road or Lower MarshOne of our more 'traditional' performance spaces, with six rows of raked end-on seating, full black masking drapes and a black lino floor. It is equally suited for Theatre and Comedy. This space includes the use of a projector and screen as standard. It's less suitable for shows with large sets. Configuration is fixed as end-on.

However, the Studio only has step-free access before a show begins, as the level access path crosses the stage. If you need level access to this space we encourage you to arrive early to make sure you can access the space before the show begins.

The Step-free Access is through the side door and across the downstage edge of stage.

Otherwise, the space can be accessed via seven steps to the back of the seating bank. There is a handrail to the left as you ascend, and there is also a metal cage to the right that could suffice as additional support if needed. There are 18cm steps down to the lower rows of seating is via six large steps with no handrail.

There is a wheelchair Accesible Toilet located in the Punch Bar which is the space the Studio Step-Free access passes through.

The Crypt has step-free access both pre-show and during latecomer/re-entry points. The front row of seats are step-free, and there are two steps to the back of the seating bank of three rows with a short railing on each side for support.

Seats can be removed for wheelchair access. The seats are padded metal chairs that are cable tied together but can be separated with prior warning for comfort.

Otherwise, the Crescent has 15 steps to the venue mezzanine. These steps have a handrail on both sides and white tape on the front of each step for improved visibility. There are also 15 steps from the top of the seating bank down to the bottom, but there is no handrail to support these steps.

We have found that most wheelchairs are able to navigate this with ease. Access to the bar, theatre and bathrooms are completely step-free.

While the front row of seating is step-free, access to the rows behind are via steps that do not have a handrail. Please note that there is not an accessible toilet at this venue, but we can organize for back of house access to The Vaults accessible touliets which is approx 2 minutes away.

There is no ramp access to the raised stage which is 40cm high.

The Underbar Lates space is step free for audience both pre-show and during latecomer/re-entry points. This is a flexible space which has a raised stage/performance space and can be set up with a mixture of seating and standing. Chairs can be added into this space on request.

There is a wheelchair accessible toilet available in the Punch Bar and in the Main Toilet Block.

The Lookout is not-wheelchair accessible and is accessed up thirteen steps which have railings on both sides and white tape on the front edge of each step to assist visibility in low light settings.
