4	Task Description	Following the removal of the season's produce Soil samples are taken from each bed and mixed ,labeled clearly and sent to the lab for analysis	Chicken Tractor moved onto beds in early November 2-3 days per bed. Kitchen scraps and straw added on a daily basis. After move shovel up the fallen material from the bed, fork over the entire surface and apply mulch from 3 comfrey plants	Remove surface mulch Create five furrows with hoe across the beds 15 cm apart Plant Garlic 15 cm apart in each row, approx 46 garlics per row Cover cloves with 20L of compost and press firmly Water in with sprinkle watering can 18L per bed Reapply surface mulch	50g per m2 x 6m2 per bed = 300 g of ash per bed sprinkled on surface 1 scoop of the fiskar hand trowel = approx 50 -70g	Forking over beds , shovelling up paths onto beds, mulching with straw hoeing weeds and cereal seeds germinated from leftover chook food. 5	Notes	pH reading is the most important measure at this stage	It would make sense to add ash to the tractors There is some time constraint between getting the soil sample results and knowing how much ash to add pH reader will solve this problem	Garlics planted in the above manner will cause delays for spring prep. If the garlics are to mature to full size cloves no other vegetables can be grown in the bed. If the garlics are grown for fresh produce there is some doubt to the economics of this crop. Using small inferior cloves can overcome this somewhat or harvesting patches to make way for other crops may also work	Sprinkled ash lightly over beds including the beds with the garlic coming up	Beds A and C forked over and paths around the NW corner defined	.	9 partially decomposed bales where parts of the bales have been wet	3 beds completed, the other beds have garlic in them so will leave until later in the week.
