I play hammered dulcimer, recorders, and mandolin for European and Middle Eastern dancers.

I like singing, and storytelling, and playing music BUT - I don't know any SCA songs (closest to knowing any is uh.. The Dream (This Dream? - whichever one Lucia, sister to Sophia, wrote!), which I only kind of sort of know) and I haven't played a medieval instrument before. Closest I have was clarinet, and I'm a pianist. So it's something I'd like to explore as I get involved in the SCA, but I haven't made it very far yet. I am also VERY happy to host at my place, and even before I can play and participate, I want to do things to help support the performing arts because they're AWESOME and every one of you is AMAZING.

March 19th is Storvik's annual Performers' Revel. In the SCA as an individual performer, I sing and accompany myself on the Celtic harp. I sing both period music and lots of other folk-type music. I am a shameless harmony slut who likes to sing with other people, any time, anywhere. I compose songs for both individual and group performance. I like to play instrumental music with any other musicians in pickup groups, either for dance music or just jamming.

I'm a classically trained cellist with a love of Renaissance and Baroque music. I've got a preference to play with one or more musicians, not because of performance anxiety but truly appreciate the fuller sound of a group playing. Does this mean I won't play solo? No.. but if put on the spot I'll likely make something up based on scale practice I do. I've received some feedback that my 6 & 12 string guitar playing is acceptable for most humans to appreciate as is my voice, but I don't go out of my way to get a turn at bardic circles... in fact I prefer to not participate in those at all except as support singing/playing or audience. What other instruments? If I can figure out a scale on it I can work with just about anything. I'm comfortable with hand percussion instruments, particularly african and mid-east sounds and rhythm.

Singing and recorder, but I can be convinced to tell a story or take part in a play. My main area of interest is period music notation and composition. My goal is to be able to do all that singing and recorder playing while reading the notation the music was originally written in.
