- Set up big sheet(s) for pie entrants - 1 for EACH CATEGORY: Sweet, Savory, Local, Kids (13 and under), Ark of Taste. All voting is "People's Choice" - voting by initials.
- Set up intake station (forms, pens, recipe cards)
- Setup music and Pie Walk (tape farm names to floor, find hat to draw- Set up pie-ku basket and rules (write pie-ku and include your name, come up to front and say it, enter it in basket for prize drawing)
- Set up Pie Lovers Unite! sign out front

- Find out whether guest is a PAID SLOW FOOD MEMBER and/or VOLUNTEER
- Put a dot on the namegtags of OFFICIAL SLOW FOOD MEMBERS AND VOLUNTEERS
- If they have brought a pie, put on pie flag/label and on Big Stickies:
1) Pie Name, and 2) Pie Number. 3) Baker's name
- Get copy of recipe
- Oversee filling out entry forms with pie info OR with contact info even if no pie.
- Write Name of Pie AND Category on numbered pie flags.
- DIRECT PIE MAKER TO Write pie number, pie name, and baker's name on big paper (for voting by initials)
- Pie runner take pie (with pie flag) to kitchen for cutting
