AYRSHIRE SENIORS CHAMPIONSHIP
Rules Of Competition
1 - The Championship shall be played in accordance with the Rules Of Golf as published by
The Royal & Ancient Golf Club of St. Andrews and Local Rules and Conditions of Competition
as published by the Ayrshire Golf Association.
2 - The Championship shall comprise 18 holes Stroke Play under handicap with a minimum age
limit of 50 years of age on the day of the competition. The winner shall be the competitor
returning the best nett score of the Championship.
3 - All ties will be decided by reference to the better inward half, last 6, last 3 holes etc. In the
event of a tie for the Championship after reference to inward half etc., the Championship
Committee shall decide how to proceed to determine the Championship winner.
4 - In the event of a competitor scratching, refund of fees paid will be at the discretion of
the Championship Committee.
5 - The acceptance of any entry will be subject to the approval of the Championship
Committee, who retains the right to refuse or accept any entry without reason.
6 - Responsibility for the Championship rests with the Championship Committee, to whom
all disputes will be referred and whose decision shall be final.
7 - To be eligible a player must be an amateur as defined by the Royal & Ancient Golf Club of
St. Andrews, and must be a member of a recognised Golf Club affiliated to the Ayrshire
8 - The maximum number of competitors may be limited to 78 players. Entry will be
determined by date of application.
9 - Entrants who have been balloted out will be notified but, depending on their place in the
ballot, may be able to compete subject to subsequent withdrawals. Maximum numbers
may be increased at the organiser’s discretion.
Entry fees will be returned to entrants who are balloted out and do not compete.
10 - Competitors are requested to register with the official starter at least 30 minutes
prior to their first tee time.
