Remittance fees are a burden on the most vulnerable and affect investment levels in countries in need of capital. Blockchain is often offered a the solution to costly money transfer fees, but this has not yet been the case, mostly because most DApp are centralized. By creating a decentralized application, we allow providers and consumers of liquidity to interact without middlemen, thus reducing the cost of transaction. Regenerate Yem (Ethiopia)

The Ethiopian Highlands are highly populated and soil/ecology/food security is under threat from deforestation and improper livestock management. A community of mainly subsistence farmers known as the Yem people are seeking new frontier for young people to grow resilient food systems. We have onboarded Tichafa Makovere, African permaculture expert with decades of experience, to set up an ecovillage in the uninhabited lowland valley where young farmers and herders will begin to do the work of regeneration which is replicable across the highlands. We will support the small contingent of land stewards and invite collectors in the cardano network by documenting important actions and information as unique NFTs. Examples of events that trigger an NFT are the documentation of an initial species in the area and an expert shouting out the project to wider permaculture community. Future iterations of the project involve open-source satellite data, oracles, and possible DAOs and traceability solutions. This is the beginning of the grassroots regenerative movement on Cardano.
