5/24/2012 0:27:00Experience the Subconscious Vivify your imagination with short hypnosis sessions that will energize, center and amaze you. Experience the power of your mind and learn how to focus that power to overcome trials standing in your way of accomplishing even more super-human feats...or just chilling out! 2:00:0017:00:00I don't need much space. People are seen one at a time in about 5-10 minute intervals. If the interest is high, I may hypnotise several people at once. It is safe, chill and highly beneficial to the mental status of anyone who participates. misspageturner@gmail.comPage Turnerthe sooner the better?

5/25/2012 0:23:39Lunchbeat EphemerisleI want to turn my noon-1pm Saturday Radio FMerisle DJ timeslot into an Official Lunchbeat dance party on the main platform! I'll be serving peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, and people will eat them and dance to the radio sounds of my collaborator Rion Fish who will provide some jammin downtempo electronic music. See: www.lunchbeat.org
01:30 (15 min setup/teardown on each end)12:00-13:00I think we can get this listed as an official Lunchbeat on the lunchbeat website, which would be neato.

From the Lunchbeat Manifesto:

1st rule: If it’s your first lunch at Lunch Beat, you have to dance.

5th rule: At Lunch Beat everyone present is your dance partner.

6th rule: Any Lunch Beat are to be 60 minutes long and set during ”lunch time”.

7th rule: Lunch Beat always serve their guest with a 1 Dj-set and 1 meal.

10th rule: Lunch Beat can be set up anywhere by anyone as long as they are announced as public events, are nonprofit arrangements and are directed by this manifesto.

30-40 minutessometime in the 21:00-24:00 time frame (so people could dance)I would need use of a sound system (probably 4 channels minimum).
Setup could take me 30-45 minutes, but could be done hours ahead of time during a less busy time etc.

Also maybe throw in a casino element with a Poker table and a black jack table. I'm think 7-10pm, but if lighting is an issue "game afternoon" might be better.3:00:0019:00:00People should bring games they want to play.sflanker@hotmail.comPaul WheelerNope

5/28/2012 18:39:04Bitcoin for BeginnersThough I'd heard about it earlier, I learned a great deal about bitcoin at Ephemerisle last year, and would like to discuss the project, market, movement, and community again. I suspect a lot more people are using bitcoin now than were using it last year and I think it is an ideal medium of exchange in a community such as ours. Trust in mathematics.00:15 to 00:30no preferenceBrian McQueen spoke about bitcoin at Memocracy last year, but only stayed for a brief visit. He's hosting semi-regular bitcoin meetups in Santa Clara and Mt. View these days, but I don't know if he'll be coming to Ephemerisle this year. If anyone's interested, we can also screen the January 13 episode of the CBS TV drama "The Good Wife" which centered around bitcoin (but was technically inaccurate for dramatic effect). I have an LCD projector and we can project the video (or any other movie people might want to see) after dark on the convenient Solara Drive-in Movie Screen (provided the wind doesn't kick up too much). 6/4/2012 21:46:16Recital of the epic poem, Integral*Integral* is 360 lines of anapestic tetrameter in three parts: Problem, Investigation, and Outcome. Each part is 30 stanzas (120 lines). First stanza:

I sat at my desk, surrounded by white
Of papers and pages and glaring bright light.
Succumbing to boredom, confusion, stagnation
I stared for a day at a single equation.
20-30 minutes21:00:00This will be a perfect event for after dinner coffee or dessert. Recital will probably happen on one of the Seasteading boats, since that is where I am staying. johnchisholm@alum.mit.eduJohn ChisholmFriday night (9 pm)
