2/17/2014 19:16:10Anne Mansfield Sullivan was the inspiration behind Helen Keller's extraordinary life. She brought a dramatic change in the life of Helen Keller on 3rd march 1887, when she arrived at the house of Keller's. Miss Sullivan was the teacher and constant companion of Helen. She was partially sighted due to a surgery that she had undergone at young age to correct her vision. She was an extremely patient and considerate teacher who never felt frustration and discontentment. She awoke Helen's soul to light and freedom. She was the embodiment of love and patience due to which, she could deal easily with the rebellious and active Helen Keller who was both blind and deaf. She played the role of a teacher, interpreter, friend, companion and motivator. She had the capacity to help Helen to connect with nature and make Helen happy
She methodically taught Helen to learn different things. She illustrated every poem and the story and use to take Helen out of door and teach. This way she not only helpesd Helen learn lessons but also developed the love of nature and the confidence. She made Helen "think" and thus helped Helen, make the connection between the abstract and the physical.By teaching alphabets, Helen could communicate with people.
In short we can conclude that after reading novel, that it was Anne Sullivan's untiring perseverance and devotion that lead to Helen Keller's success.
