Pavements are full of dog mess, badly parked cars, discarded litter such as disposable e cigarettes especially outside Royds Hall high school, pavements are also in bad condition especially around the Victory Avenue and Beech Street areas
6
I very rarely use public transport but I don't have to walk very far to reach a stop that is served by a regular service.
1
Parking is absolutely shocking in the Paddock area, particularly on Thursdays and Fridays when people attend the local mosque. This is also evident when there are events there such as funerals, people park and double park on the main road and side roads. Drivers have very little consideration around the school areas, speeding along Heaton Road I've found personally is a very big issue.
1
There is nothing remotely attractive or visually pleasing about the area.
2
There is only TP Woods in the area that really falls into this category, and even then the pond is falling into disrepair with the little jetties being rotten and unsafe. It attracts groups who take drugs and drink alcohol.
2
Other than the dilapidated playground equipment on the end of Douglas Avenue that is regularly frequented by gangs of teenagers, there is only Greenhead Park in the area. We often drive out of the area to access quality outdoor space for our children.
5
There is a good range of shops and services in the area, there are many takeaways but I'd like to see a more varied range of takeaways.
1
Unless you want to work in a shop or a takeaway, there are no real opportunities in Paddock.
1
Homes are now disgustingly overpriced for the area, there is a serious lack of affordable housing for families such as mine.
5
The village hall, jubilee centre etc all run various groups and meet ups, I just don't feel they're aimed at the wider community. The village hall used to run courses for those who needed to learn English which is fantastic, however the only one that was suitable for myself was an introduction to Instagram - I really don't need to learn how to use social media.
1
It definitely doesn't have a positive identity. I've lived in Paddock 10 years and came to high school here, and while I consider it home, it's not a particularly pleasant area any more. It's run down and dirty.
1
Having been burgled in 2016, I don't feel particularly safe. There have been many incidents in the local area, there are drug dealers that frequent the road I live on, to people riding dirt bikes up and down the road with no regard for people crossing the road or children. They are a nuisance. Most of the children I come across are very disrespectful and will just come and sit on my driveway or walk around our car for no reason at all.
1
Absolutely not. Please see previous responses.
1
I don't feel anyone's voice matters. The general feeling I get is people have put up with things for years so just get on with it when they shouldn't have to.
Cleaner streets Better outdoor spaces More activities and opportunities for children and teenagers More police presence to deter drug dealing and off road bikes being ridden illegally
The council actually remembering Paddock exists and coming to assess the areas I've mentioned. The police actually caring about the community.

I am responding as the Branch Street Allotments Community Group
4
The pavement on Branch Street even side is broken, uneven and dangerous for pedestrians. Branch Street has motor vehicles parked on both sides so traffic is one way at times. Motor vehicles associated with a motor vehicle repair business are parked on both sides at the bottom of Branch Street. Yesterday 2 large low-loader trucks were in this location. At the weekend many large white vans are left day and night, parked on the pavement at the junction of Branch Street and Heaton Road. Most do not have a trade or commercial notice on the side or back. two vans are often parked daily on the Heaton Road pavement at this junction.
4
The frequency of bus service during the day is good but in the evening it has been cut to not useful.
1
See previous comment on Branch Street.
1
There is no public space.
5
Access to the Canal on foot is possible. There is a field known as Horses Field that is accessible on foot. This not a public open space and is not maintained for the public. It adjoins some woods known as TP Woods that are accessible on foot.
1
This type of space does not exist in Paddock. There is a serious lack of opportunity for safe play for children in an area where many families with young children reside. There is not facility for youths to gather for leisure or sport. There is one private ground used for football.
4
There is a post office that doubles as a convenience shop. There are 5 other small grocery/off licence stores, 3 serving mainly the South Asian communities. The last butcher closed very recently and there are no shops offering a good range of fresh fruit and vegetables. There is a bread, cakes and sandwich shop at the roundabout - a long walk up hill from Paddock Foot. There are various retail services and take-aways at Paddock Foot. Many of the takeaways open in the evening. 3 sandwich/burger/coffee establishments have opened recently at the roundabout causing pavement parking problems especially at the morning traffic peak. There is one GP practice, no dentist. There is a nursery at Paddock School. There are no library facilities. The Village Hall and Cafe a community facility run by Paddock Community Trust has recently closed. This was the only community facility where people could drop in and arrange to meet. There are 2 places of worship, The Jubilee Centre, the Friends Meeting House which offer rooms that community groups can access . The Mosque is very busy on Fridays, cause much on street parking.
1
Paddock Community Trust until recently offered opportunities to people to gain basic education and training and spoken English language classes. This is a loss to the community.
2
Most of the houses are 2 and 3 bedroom terrace houses with paved yards and/or small gardens. There are some council houses and 2 blocks of flats. There are many families that could use more living space.
1
See previous responses.
2
Most of the older indigenous generation of Paddock residents have died off. They had a strong sense of identity. Those who remain complain that 'Paddock has gone down: it was a respectable place'. There is very little interaction of the 'indigenous' and migrant communities except at neighbour level. There are many rented properties which are occupied, short term, by students and recent migrants whose priorities are not in Paddock. I have lived in Paddock for 25 years and I like it. I regret the loss of the Village Hall, which, I understand was due to long closure during the Pandemic and lack of support.
54
There are several small sites where there seems to be no responsibility which are used for fly tipping of domestic and commercial rubbish. The food shops could do better in dealing with their waste. There is no local residents' association.
2
I cannot speak for such a diverse group of residents. People wishing to contact the Council or visit a library will have to go into the town centre. Local councillors do their best to call once per year, but there is no local opportunity for residents to drop in. I am aware that residents complain that they do not see their Councillors. The religious organisations, presumably offer their followers opportunities to meet.
Improved opportunities for residents to contact the Council with their concerns in person and to gain a better understanding of the Council services. A community facility for residents to have a cup of tea/coffee and a chat.
I have worked as a volunteer/trustee for Paddock Community Trust for 20+ years and have run out of ideas. The Healthy Living Centre at the Village Hall that was supported by the Council, Paddock Community Trust, he National Lottery and the NHS thrived 2001-2006 until the funds ceased and the project was expected to be 'sustainable'. if this could be replicated there would be a healthy and happier community. An opportunity lost.

We need better bus services and a pub we could do with road widening in paddock foot where it joins Manchester road and a pedestrian crossing on the paddock side of the road
6
The pavement and roads are shocking and need repairs see wren street
5
Only one bus an hour if it does turn up. Can’t we get a hopper service little and often.
6
Many cars have to be on the pavement as the road isn’t wide enough for two sides of parked cars and traffic
4
The community centre needs attention and a little library would be great
5
The park is too far away for some the basketball court is excellent for teenagers but its sadly being sold. We need a new one and a Children’s play area. There’s space by the river why not there?
1
We need a small play area
14
A better bus service would help

Better bus service and a replacement basketball pitch along with a small park would improve the area along with road repairs on wren street

To improve the area
56556554554332
Crime reduction, drug dealers openly operating on the main Street. I would like to see people caring for their homes and gardens better and communities mixing more rather being separate ethnic groups. The sports court behind the allotments needs to be batter cared for, safer and promoted more for young people
More policing, investment by the council, more social groups or meetings at the Jubilee centre or village hall

I've recently moved to the area from Armitage Bridge. I want to know what it's like here. I want to put what I think so far.
3
There is only pavement access that I know of around Paddock for walking. There may be small grassy areas. I know there is the canal about 200m away but again I think its a pavement walk with a bike etc. It's not very pedestrian friendly around Longroyd Bridge with all the junctions and busy traffic constantly. Greenhead Park isn't too far away if you can walk uphill ok. There could be more seating around Paddock in general. It needs to be made more resident friendly. It looks very run down everywhere. The main road through Paddock is always very busy with traffic. Road bumps are useless as everyone just speeds over them. The canal needs to be made safer for bike users and walkers. I certainly wouldn't want to be cycling through the main road of Paddock, it's bad enough having to drive through, with parked cars and people pulling out suddenly on the narrow bit of road that is left to get through. Paddock has always been less thought of than other areas and so has never been looked after. There are convenient shops within walking distance, although I have to drive, and parking is always an issue near the top of Paddock. There is a council tower block opposite my home that have been given a private car park, with locked gates because they moaned but now hardly any residents use it, but my street is just used by anyone to park. I have sent for Permit Parking application, but it takes forever with no updates. People just park here to go to the shops and other places. I need to be able to park outside. I know there is massive drug dealing on my road EVERY day and night. There are no patrols or anything to stop it. They are just brazen and behave like they are kings. I want to buy a burglar alarm but they're too expensive. I think Paddock in general needs to be updated and brought into this century and looked after much better with more police patrols and a nicer look and feel to the area. There is a basketball court on my road that I tried to find out about when I moved in to the area to get it looking better with paint and seats etc, for the kids and adults to use. Then I found out it was already going through a sale. God knows what will go there now. More houses we don't need when the parking is ridiculous already. A car dealership down the road is now empty, but you can bet it will either just rot or end up something useless that we don't need, instead of people properly thinking about the area and bringing in businesses that will help the area thrive. It is a large site and really needs a good business boost. As in all areas some of the local businesses are a bit pointless and you wonder how much custom they must actually get, or that they really, they should be located somewhere else, with better facilities for them, like the bed company or whatever it is at the bottom of Paddock. It really is in the wrong place altogether. No thought really goes into what businesses can and can't open in Paddock, it seems to be a place where anything goes, and it shouldn't be.
2
I don't use public transport in this area. I know buses go up and down the main road. I don't know if there any other services. If I needed to use public transport, I couldn't afford to do so on top of paying for a car. The bus stops never look very clear or well maintained.
1
The speed bumps on my road are useless - people just SPEED over them. A lot of heavy vehicles are using the road and causing a lot of noise. The flats across (council) have locked car park) - ridiculous. My road should now have Permit Parking. People are just parking here to use the shops. That is what the council flat tenants complained about - so they got a locked car park. I need to be able to park outside my home. There is a property with Airbnb status. That should never have been given the go ahead. Too many cars coming and going. So we can't keep an eye on who should and shouldn't be there. Just because the road comes off the main road from Paddock, doesn't mean that people should park here to use the hairdressers and chemist and small supermarket etc. There is too much through traffic coming along here. A lot of it is heavy goods lorries. Alternative routes could be provided. It is narrow. If my car is knocked, I will complain as I can't afford a new one or unnecessary repairs. The flats also have to stop their cars to get out and unlock their gates which causes hold ups on the road. Absolutely ridiculous. Brow Road.
1
I think Paddock needs to be made more attractive in general. It is overlooked hugely. The businesses allowed to be here needs to be more stringent. They need to be the kind to help Paddock thrive. Vacant land that was a car dealership will probably end up being something totally stupid or left to rot. Making the place look worse. Longroyd Bridge just down the road is a disgrace. Buildings falling down and empty for years. Car park that you wouldn't dare leave your car in if you have any sense. What is wrong with people? Just because people that don't work or are from other countries that live there, does that mean they don't deserve to live in a lovely looking neighbourhood with nice areas and good businesses?
1
Natural space? Where? Apart from Greenhead Park. There is a space of grass along the road, but people walk their dogs on it - I wouldn't want to use it as it'll be full of dog shit that no one wants to pick up, because not everyone that walks their dogs will be picking up their dog shit. The basketball ball court on my road could have been left and brought to life for people to use, but no - they had to sell it to some twit who will want to make as much money as possible and put something stupid there like houses we don't need, to cause more parking issues.
1
As I have already said the basketball court on my road - Brow Road was perfect for recreation for young and older. - but apparently it has been sold so some muppet can put something there that no one needs all because they are greedy. It just needed sprucing up with paint and seats and proper lights. Why does everything have to be taken away that was helping people? This is a great outdoor space for everyone to have a go.
4
There is the Jubilee Centre - apparently that has different things going on. There's a recent charity shop a cafe a hardware shop. a couple of small supermarkets. The usual takeaways. A sandwich shop which is AMAZING. Chemist, Post Office within a shop, there used to be a butcher, not sure what happened. hairdressers, Locksmith, i think. Accountant??? Why? Bed company?? why?? these sorts of places should be in town. Which is rapidly going downhill anyway. There are some good shops, but there could be more that help it to thrive.
3
I think there a few businesses around the area, so there is scope for employment. It needs to be the right kind of business though. Not places that need huge car parks with loads of staff, there isn't the space in most parts. I don't know about volunteering; I presume there are opportunities at the charity opened recently opened. There is a job centre in the town centre but this has nothing to do with Paddock, which is what I am trying to help improve.
2
There are different types of housing. Council block flats Council low rise flats. Private rented. Private owned It isn't a snobby area. You can stay in the area if you choose to as you get older there is a variety of places. I think private landlords take the mick with rent prices and what they provide. It's disgusting. If we wanted to provide everything ourselves, we'd be able to afford to buy BUT WE CAN'T so we private rent and they just take the mick. I shouldn't have to get my own carpets and decorate myself. I also shouldn't have to get my own window blinds for almost every room. What is the point? I can't really take these things with me if I move. Private landlords need a kick up the arse. It isn't fair. I'm paying too much, if i'm getting all the things above myself and he uses most of my cellar. Penny pinching landlords NEEDS TO STOP .
1
I have no idea about this apart from the basketball court that won't be soon. There is a small cafe. There are a couple of green spaces where people walk their dogs but like I already said why would I want to meet anyone there when it is full of dog shit? There is the Jubilee Centre, but as yet I don't really know what is provided there. I would imagine there is access for elderly and disabled for various classes etc., I've read about. I don't think there is much else. I don't know about the streets surrounding my roads and beyond yet. It all seems very car heavy with parking.
2
I do feel ok here. I doubt it has a positive identity as when I told people I was moving here they curl up their noses, because it isn't Holmfirth where I was in the past. Like I have said in previous boxes, it needs bringing into this century and mad to look nice. It needs better businesses opening here in Paddock, not useless ones that don't help the economy and community. I think people do get on in the community. Apart from the obvious drug dealing. There is an online neighbourhood thing, but I only used it a short while. It wasn't my thing, just certain people/person moaning all the time, wanting everyone to know they are in pain. I don't think anything about Paddock is celebrated, as it is mostly neglected and forgotten about when anywhere is upgraded. I still like it here so far.
2
My contents insurance has gone up a lot since I moved here. Exactly because of the reasons I have pointed out in previous boxes. I was told if I get a burglar alarm it will go down. It doesn't fill me with confidence. I like it here though so far. It would still be good to get a burglar alarm I suppose. There are lots of different ages, sex, ethnic groups, beliefs etc. I'm not sure I feel overly confident about my car on the road all the time parked as it is so busy.
2
I've already mentioned this also. No, I think Paddock is forgotten and buildings etc are not well cared for. Spaces especially not. I have no idea if there is a resident's association, I haven't had time to find out, I've had a lot to deal with since moving in. Bin collections and recycling are ok, although they could just take a second to put the relevant bin back in the space they got it from, it isn't rocket science. The pavement is narrower with bins having to be there and cars parked too. They leave them just dumped wherever their hand lets go of them. It isn't very good that way. I find dog mess an issue, there was some outside my window not long ago, I refused to move it, it vanished eventually, I suspect it was my landlord who moved it. I wasn't going to. I haven't come across vandalism as yet here.
1
I haven't come across anything where I can contribute, not keen on face to face, would rather do online. There isn't anything i know of at all. I doubt local people feel listened to. The rest probably just couldn't care less. Usually because they know they won't be listened to. Or think that they don't matter to anyone.
Permit Parking Basketball Court More relevant businesses for the area to thrive.
Highways Council Council I have already contacted the relevant places for permit parking - They probably will have some excuse why we can't have it. I have already contacted the relevant people about the basketball court - apparently it was sold - it will now either rot or be made into something we don't need causing more parking issues. I can't do anything about what better businesses for the area are allowed to open. We just need useful ones not bed companies that should be in shopping centres or town centres.

Nowhere for kids to play at all The park at top of paddock is so run down and kids have nothing to play on

There is not much parking space around community buildings especially the Jubilee Centre. There are a lot of cars parked in all the roads every day so finding a place to park can prove to be a problem
44
There’s not much open space in paddock
4
Greenhead park is the not too far from paddock but it is quiet a big hill 2 walk up to get there from paddock so a small play area in paddock would B useful
544454
It is a fairly busy area for people to drive but with so many parked cars walking around isn’t always very pleased
4
I would say paddock is a mix of well cared for places & so not so well cared for. Especially round the back roads
4More parking for community buildings.

I regularly attend the jubilee centre in paddock
1
The roads outside the jubilee centre are difficult to cross (especially with children and elderly) with vehicles moving at speed and from various angles as there are so many adjoining roads. There's lots of vehicles parking on junctions and double yellow lines
1
Poor connectivity of buses, no radial bus routes so would need to go into town and then try change buses
1
As per question 1. The road is unsafe to cross and a pedestrian or pelican crossing is required so are reduced speeds and caution children signs. The jubilee centre is a hive of fantastic activity but teh road outside is so dangerous.
1
A lot could be done to improve the streetscape in paddock and to remind people driving through that there is life in paddock and to respect the people who are out and about instead of thinking about themselves and driving and parking inconsiderately
1
This is all absent in the centre of paddock. Greenhead park and geldholt woods are not an easy walk to access and again difficult roads to navigate on foot
1
Jubilee centre would benefit from some natural outside space
1
Can't comment so ignore the rating above

2
Mainly road safety in daylight for me however I don't think I'd feel safe at night
22
Improved provision for pedestrians including crossing points and slower driving conditions. Make people who pass through, respect the area. Address the awful traffic queues at longroyd bridge so it's better for buses and pedestrians
Crossing points,20mph speed, greenery

2022-10-20Paddockhd1 4r35 - 44female3
Parking on paths and cycle lanes makes walking and cycling difficult. No priority given to cyclists. There is a lot of litter on luck lane which makes in unpleasant to walk. Areas do not feel safe after dark, e.g gledholt woods and some of the side streets. Also on market street there is drug and alcohol use and often people are under the influence which does not feel safe. There is a significant rat problem on alleyways between beech street and larch road. Roundabouts are difficult to navigate as pedestrian by vicotrian avenue
3
Buses are not good value for short trips eg. into town. They do not run early enough to be viable option for work and do not run late enough to be viable option for socialising. The bus stops would not be easy to access for those with mobility issues due to the condition of the paths. Secure Cycle storage is available in the town centre but only if you pass through the ticket barrier at the train station. How do you secure a bike if you are not a train passenger.
1
Parking on luck lane is awful. People park on the path or street and have even started parking on the grass verges, blocking pedestrians. Regularly cars are damaged and drivers speed and rev their cars. This has an impact on how safe the area feels but also noise impacts when people try to sleep. There are also regular dirt biker using the school fields at luck lane school. The noise is awful and it feels intimidating to walk outside when this is happening. There are limited traffic calming measures on luck lane. There are too manay cars and at school pick up and drop off parents drive up footpaths and block residents cars in order to get their children as close to the school gate as possible. A drop off point a few hundred yards from teh school would encourage walking and prevent the daily gridlock
3
Paddock high street has gone down hill since the butchers has closed and O'briens antiques have moved to the warehouse. There is little reason to use the high street as it it just takeaways and convience shops mainly. It is a porr relation of Marsh/Lindley high street. There are no public spaces to congregate apart from greenhead park which is in edgerton rather than paddock. That space is beautfiul and well kept but it not part of paddock.
3
Gledohlt woods is lovely but does not feel safe as a woman to walk in alone. There is graffiti, people lighting fires and people using drugs in the woods which feels intimidating. There was also an attack on a woman there this year. It is a lovely space but feels inaccessible to me. Greenhead park is amazing but closed at night and is outside paddock although accessed by alos of people there. More recently it has felt slightly more unsafe with groups of men circling the park and obvious drug taking under the bridge. Limited police presence makes this worse.
4
na- no children so not something I can comment on
2
Shopping facilities extremely limited- tend to go to marsh/town centre. No community centre/hall which can be used by the public. Limited exercise facilities in the area. Most amenities are located in Marsh/Town centre and require transport of some kind.
3
Most people work in huddersfield town centre or commute. Limited opportunities in paddock. There are some volunteering opportunities in jubilee centre and with paddock community centre however much of the voluntary opportunities have a religious affiliation which is not suitable or desired by everyone.
3
Some houses in paddock are run down and poorly kept. There is a variety of housing but the quality on the whole is poor. There is a variety of flats, houses and detacted/terraced options. No bungalows for those with mobilty issues
1
socializing is within peoples homes mainly. Limited opportunities to socialise- no bars/restaurants or actiivities in paddock. Limited opportunities for those of different backgrounds to mix together. Most activities I access are outside of paddock
2
People are embarrassed to live in paddock. It is seen as poor and run down. There is limited community and people talk about the place negatively.
2
There are significant safety issues particualy at night. Areas are poorly lit or alot of trees on Luck lane block the light making it feel unsafe to walk. Paddock high street does not feel safe at night for a woman.
2
no residents association. LA does tidy grass verges however they cut the grass even if litter is present meaning they then cut plastic litter into thousands of pieces an scattered around. Some of the large trees blcok street lights and make the area feel less safe on a night. Litter is a significant issue near luck lane school with students siposing of food wrappers and drinks bottles when walking to and from school gates.
2
no - I only found out about this consultation by accident. Do not know who to contact to report issues of parking and litter. Have looked on council website and limited guidance on how to do so.
Litter and safety. Things like improved street lighting, spaces to socialize that are not takeaways and safe places to walk and exercise would make paddock a much nicer place to live. Bulky items need to be colleceted from houses to stop them begin deposited in gardens and litter bins need to be provided and emptied mroe frequently to control litter
- increased bins/recycling bins on streets -imprved street lighting and trimming of trees that block current lighting provision -taffic control/prevention of dirt bikes on school playing fields

I do a lot of walking around Paddock and find the pavements etc to be very good.
5
I do not use public transport so can't really comment on if it meets me needs.
55
It is average. I wouldn't say its the most attractive looking area but it's also not the worst.
7
Paddock is very good for natural space, TP Woods, Upper Brow Road etc
1
Paddock definitely needs a children's playground. The basketball court on Brow Road needs improvements.
6
Generally good amenities in this area.

There are nice places to walk, fields, woods etc however I wouldn’t cycle on the roads due to the speed of drivers. Cars parked both sides of the roads and even on pavements also hinder walking/cycling
7
I haven’t used the public transport, I’d drive or walk
2
Cars parking dangerously and travelling at high speeds
4
Woods, streams, canals, fields all nice to walk around. Sometimes the footpaths or walkways could do with a tidy ie bushes onto footpaths
4
Could do with being looked over and tidied
4
I only know of one playground for small children to play and that has been updated and looks nice
2
I don’t go onto the Main Street of paddock
4
I know of businesses in the local area but wouldn’t say there is an active local community
5
Housing needs seem to be fine
32
I would say the place is known for drugs
3
Up until the machete and gun fire, i did feel fairly safe. Again all linked to drugs, which you can smell on many streets of paddock
5
The buildings looked after by businesses look fine, it’s people houses that aren’t looked after

main route down Paddock is not safe for my scooter or bicycle Paths are not safe for mobilty scooter. Buses cut off corners on the way to the school off market street.
43
lots of backed up traffic under the triangle Can be dangerous and back up to the urban accountancy centre cars coming up up Shires hill drive so fast without looking - very dangerous for access to the Jubilee Centre Roundabout up the top of Market street a little calmer, but you have to watch out for cars coming up clough lane too much traffic parked on the road could do with a crossing at the bottom of the street opposite the Jubilee Centre to allow those parking in the car park up school lane to cross with their children safely calming measures are effective upt to the beds and bedrooms and then the last hump slopes down the hill and people speed up for the last bit to the triangle
4
Not too bad. ground behind the doctors is in poor state the ground below the flats sometimes have litter and dog poo the lovely roundabout at the top near the vets used to look lovely but a little bit run down now the woods behind royds school are looking better as the community are litter picking that area now I hope the village hall doesn't get pulled down as that is a key feature in the landscape there is no central gathering point or focus square
34
The only places I know are the Jubilee Centre and Paddock infants kids don't play out the same but not many areas that are safe without over parking
4
From focal in salendine nook to the sikh temple and oasis centre there is very little facilities for the community. None in Oaks, Quarmby or the triangle. Bit of an area lacking focal points. no libraries, no places to eat and drink indoors to meet friends, youth clubs closed, There a few shops and take aways - though sometimes these leave mess. Miss the community butchers up the road - Sharlands
1
There is nothing in this area to help people get into jobs now. No ability to get onto computers. No advice for those with english as a second language.
2
Some of the housing is poor. landlords are bad. have heard about housing with damp, rats and cockroaches
6
The Jubilee Centre is a great place for this. But the only place. There is no signage to this centre In fact not much signage around Paddock
5
good inclusivity at Jubilee Cetnre
2
There are people with mental health issues who walk down the middle of the street, shout at night time. they are obviously in distress. They need help my dog was attacked by a big dog on the grass at the bottom of market street and the man punched his dog with his fist. I was very shaken. lots of drug deals in broad daylight up and down the road. some down clough lane. others near school lane
3
rubbish in bin on corner of school lane in a pile often, park spaces a little rough I used to go and sit in the cemetery attached to the church. It was a small quite area where the birds sang. The chair has gone and all the headstones removed. i thought it was a public place and I am sad this little haven has been taken away from the community. Who is in charge of it now. It need signage to make people aware that it is there
2
Because the area has no focus area and no focus I think the people in this area do not feel they have a voice or always talk to each other. I think the Jubilee Centre speak out for people. We are not like all the areas like Lindley etc. where there are lots of things going on
Signage for positive buildings crossing at jubilee centre areas a unkempt - cemetery disappeared - why? community focus not here

No No voice. too restricted not enough funds Jubilee centre do a lot more, good for the community, they care about people
53
2022-10-03PaddockHD1 4S35 - 44femalepaper copy7
Public transport at the top of Paddock is good but on market street there is only 1 bus an hour, people with reduced mobility cannot walk to the top of Paddock to catch a bus or stand in the cold wet weather to wait when they miss or are late. Everything else is good including walking and cycling routes.
6
1 bus an hour from the bottom half of Paddock when it turns up. There are no free toilets in the bus station and there are no seats during busy periods. The buses have seats for disabled and old people that everyone uses and they don't move off them when someone needs to use them
6
There is a crossing at the top of Paddock but if you want to cross from School Street to the Jubilee centre you can be stood there for 10/15 minutes until it is clear. There is a problem for all people and people with limited mobility. The traffic calming measures are a problem as buses don't slow down enough and when you are on a bus you end up with serious back problems
7
This area is a more pleasant experience than the town centre which is being ruined year by year. All you need to do is go in the library to see what a mess has been made of it.
7
Tree lined streets area a problem as the roots lift the surface of the footpath which causes people to trip and fall and Kirklees take months to cut the growth from the side of the trees and you have to pester them to do it.
7
There was Paddock village hall which could be used for groups of people to take part in community activities but they have closed it down. thee was also a youth building down Beech street that could be sued for play and recreation
7
There is a good GP surgery in Paddock and shops. One shop has a Post Office but the one shop further up and the one on the left on the corner of Church St/South St as you are going up used to sell alcohol, cigarettes to under aged children which leads to bad behaviour.
6
There are companies at the top and bottom of Paddock where people can loo for work and buses to take them into Huddersfield. There were opportunities for gaining skills at Paddock village hall but this has closed down.
7
There are too many houses being thrown up but there are different types of housing in Paddock including Council accommodation, private renting and houses to buy. There is also a care home, Churches of different denominations, a doctors surgery, shops etc.
7
The Jubilee centre is the best place in Paddock a if offers classes, food share, coffee mornings, keep fit. The village hall has closed down and this was a big mistake as they offered additional things.
7
Everything in this section is fine except they have taken away the community village hall where there were other opportunities that do not exist any more, you have to trail to the Media centre etc to access things.
7
I am an old and disabled person, feel totally safe in this area.
6
I do not know where there are recycling bins in Paddock except at Paddock triangle right at the bottom of Market street.
1
I do not feel I have a voice in decision making and or feel able to make changes but that is normal generally as the Council usually decides what's happening no matter what people say, in my experience local authorities, health services and housing associations do not understand needs.
2. Bus service 3. Crossings at lower/mid Paddock Speed bumps causing back problems etc. 1. The community village hall needs reopening as a lot has been lost with the closure. Recycling at the top of Paddock mid Paddock.
Open village Hall put more buses on day and night make a crossing
