1		Welcome to my PPG document for promotion and relegation from Steps 2 to 7. I have been running this document since 2011 due to the fact that the FA seemed determined to settle promotion and relegation issues on spreadsheets rather than the football field. Currently many levels are having to rely on PPG to see which clubs get promoted and, in the event of reprieves, which clubs avoid relegation. So what is PPG? It stands for Points Per Game. Many of the divisions at a "Step" of non-league football have differing numbers, meaning that you can't simply rely on who has the most points. That's where PPG comes in. Rather than clubs having to rely on pen, paper and calculators to see where their fate lies, I've put all the information into one spreadsheet to hopefully make it easier. Please don't shoot me if it's wrong, it's only a guide on what COULD happen.

9		At Step 3, the intention was that the bottom two sides from each division would be relegated. However, due to vacancies in the pyramid, that is not the case - see below. The bottom placed side will not be eligible for a reprieve.

12	(1)	Aug 2021: At the start of the season there were six vacancies at Step 2 or above in the pyramid. As a result, and to facilitate Step 2 going to 24-team divisions, only the bottom side from each division will be relegated.

26		The champion and playoff winner from each division will go up. If a side is unable to be promoted due to ground grading then their position (whether as champions or in the playoffs) will be taking by the next available side, but only as far as 7th place.

29		NOTE: The colour coding of teams represents what they are on course to do based on their current Points Per Game (PPG). For example, that may mean a side is showing as being on course for promotion even if they're not currently in a promotion position in the table.
