Model United Nations9-12Model United Nations presents students with an opportunity to participate in simulated geo-political problem solving. Students will analyze various fictional scenarios that are contemporaneous with real world global issues. Students will develop cultural awareness as well as critical thinking skills as they work through different situations together.27

Number Bee Club: Middle School6-8th Approximately 15The Number Bee is an on-line math challenge. It consists of 24 levels of challenging problems. It is similar to the “24 Game”. Students are given a target number for which they need to find the correct number sentence to make the target number. For instance, in Level 1, the number “12” may be the target number. The student will be given a choice of “-“ or “+” to combine the numbers “5” and “7”. Students move rapidly through the beginning levels to the challenging levels where there may be additional numbers given as well as additional operations. Students will be challenged with using their mental math abilities to solve the problems the fastest. A competition in the Spring culminates the club (TBA).12

Role Playing Club6-12The club invites students to use their imaginations to become anyone or anything. The club plays "Dungeons and Dragons, Savage Worlds and also plays fantasy Card games, like Magic The Gathering.4

Science Olympiad: High School9-12Science Olympiad is an American high school team competition which tests knowledge of various science topics and engineering ability. Students compete in 23 main events, which usually occur on a single day. Events fall under 3 main categories: Science Concepts and Knowledge, Science Processes and Thinking Skills, and Science Application and Technology.

Science Olympiad: Middle School6-9Middle School Science Olympiad brings two competitive teams of fifteen members each (for a total of 30, plus a few alternates) to Dover in March to compete in the Statewide Science Olympiad, with the potential to go to nationals if we finish in the top three. Students will, potentially, build, study, take tests, and demonstrate skills in various scientific disciplines. Tryouts begin in late September-early October.
