India
As long as we have a good location and are sensitive to local culture (which can range between inclusive to intolerant depending upon the location), we will be fine in terms of LGBTQ+ discrimination.
Main problem will be visas for people from Pakistan (and probably Afghanistan, Bangladesh). I have organised an event before where we did manage to get a visa for 1 participant from Pakistan. It involved a lot of hassle. However, it also depends upon the travellers' ability to clear their visa with the Indian embassy of their country as these processes have a lot of tricky bureaucracy. Can't foresee any huge problems besides this. India has a sensitive culture, though laws are there to protect people.

Panamaneutral-ish legally (cops can be jerks)somewhat easysomeShams was excited about this. "Here's what Bangladesh will be able to offer:

The Space (https://www.fablabs.io/labs/dhaka).. the picture is not updated as we got a new venue.
4000 sq. feet
12 KM from the airport
15 min from the residential area and embassy diplomatic zone (where attendees will be housed)
20 min away from restaurant hubs of dhaka city

also can invite a co-working space partner to provide 2 satellite facilities within 10-20 min distance:
https://www.moarbd.com/

we are capable of constructing additional 1/2 breakout rooms at a secondary level in Fab Lab if 200 people in a 4000 sq feet area is not enough.

also, regarding funding: will we be allowed to get local sponsors if we have additional costs on top of what GOSH can provide?"

Ann Arbor, Michigan-USA,HARDsomeFrom Greg:- Maker Works - this is a 10k sqft nonprofit maker space which we could use. Has every tool in the book, I could reach out to learn more.
- Touchstone / Great Oak - this is a great place for the conference because it has a large main room, a large kitchen, and breakout rooms across 2 different buildings
- George's shop - not ideal, but a very large space. We could use it for some things and it's walking distance to Touchstone.

45m with bus every 2 hours from major hub (detroit). Nice downtown A2 for fun night time activities. Super low cost (like... free), great local community that we could present at depending on the dates (A2 tech seen, A2 gotech, etc. etc.).

I could ask Mark Smith also to see if there's spaces at or around MI HQ.

CameroonFrom Thomas: Related to LGBTQ+ rights, there is a law prohibiting such practices here in Cameroon. But you will be surprised to see that there is a good community here and they are living freely. Me in particular I have some friends that are LGBTQ+ and I have known them since secondary school. LGBTQ+ people are only worried when they display provocative behaviour and defiance of the law. Generally, those who do so, do it to easily obtain visas for western countries.
From Thomas: it is mandatory to present a negative PCR covid19 test (no more than 3 days old) upon your arrival at the airport in Cameroon, and the same when you are leaving.
From Thomas: Related to visas, everyone is welcome to Cameroon and you can easily get your visa from your home country. If it is not possible, I can help you get it at the airport; I have succeeded at doing this in the past. Some troubles exist in North West and South West regions, and in the North with Boko haram. But they are isolated and Yaoundé is so safe that you will never notice any trouble related to this.
Thomas Mboa, Mboalabssome
From Thomas: I would like to host the Global GOSH in Cameroon. I think Mboalab is ready to lead this. In july 2021, we organised an international event on Health and artificial intelligence here in Cameroon, and it was a great success. I managed to get all the visas of international participants at the entrance, and we did this in respect of covid19 rules. The venue to be used for the gathering is the Mboalab in Yaoundé. At the Mboalab, we have :
- A makerspace
- A biology lab
- A Library
- A conference room
- Kitchen that we turn into a restaurant when we are hosting events ;
- 5 bedrooms (we can prepare more if needed) which can be used as a headquarters for the core team if they want to work on site. In total, we can have 200 to 250 people in our venue (while respecting Covid19 measures) For the accommodation, aside if someone wants to live at the Mboalab, the following options for hotel are perfect :
a) United Hotel
b) Dajoll Hotel

The two hotels are in 15 minutes to the Mboalab. We can move to the venue using a Bus that we will take for the event.

We can also do some extra activities at 2 parks near the Mboalab (Ekopark and Mvog Beti Park).

Sri LankaSri Lanka has implemented anti-discrimination laws for homosexuals as part of its constitutional human rights action plan. Sri Lankan Penal Code criminalizes same-sex sexual acts and it remains on the books, though reports have variously referred to it as rarely used, unenforced, or decriminalized.SUPER EASYNoMONSOON n
