PURPOSE: To confirm that the horse demonstrates correct basics, and in addition to the requirements of Training Level, has developed the thrust to achieve improved balance and throughness and to maintain a more consistent contact with the bit. All trot work may be ridden sitting or rising, unless stated.JUDGE:Ida Norris

4Rider’s Position and SeatAlignment, posture, stability, weight placement, following mechanics of the gaits55shair seat ( needs thighs down and back so lower leg will be more properly in place to ask for impulsion and engagement) additionally seat needs to be more independent and arms to be more elastic, hands lower and reains shorter to get hor5se on the bit.. first horse must cover ground and then be asked to go round
46
5Rider’s Correct and Effective Use of the AidsClarity, subtlety, independence, accuracy of test44see above

Pretty horse and seems calm which is GOOD! today this team is not meeting the requirements of second level. Horse must be on the bit and rider needs effective seat and balance for correct lower hands, shorter reins ability to get the horse in front of the leg and get horse round. If you asked my opinion , I would lunge this horse in side reins several times a week to "remind" it of its on the bit position and strengthen its muscles without rider weight. Riders often benefit from lunge lesson to improve seat and driving aids.... at this level if the horse is not on the bit the exercises are irrelevant.. ie there is no point in doing shoulder in... go back to the basics.. get forward, on the bit and round. ride clean prompt and obedient transitions and then go on to more complicated exercises. You CAN DO THIS.. but you MUST GET FORWARD AND ON THE BIT FIRST!
