| Celeste Checkpoint Reference Compilation
| ||||||||
| The goal of this sheet is to compile checkpoint times+videos with reasonable strats which can net you
| a 29 (or better!) in Celeste Any%. These can help serve as goal times for those aiming for that milestone,
| however many of the strats shown here should be viable at levels of play well before that.
| ||||||||
| What are the different columns?
| ||||||||
| Everyone has a different approach to the game: some people prefer optimising safe strats to their fullest
| extent, whereas some people prefer learning the harder strats early and learning to be consistent with them.
| This sheet aims to accommodate both playstyles, and will split checkpoint videos accordingly (where
| applicable). Ideally I'd recommend watching both videos regardless, using the safe strats as a baseline and
| picking up risky strats which feel consistent, as the videos combined aim to show a variety of strat choices.
| ||||||||
| What are the times? | |||||||
| ||||||||
| The times shown are merely the ones achieved in the checkpoint example videos. The movement on average
| will likely be a bit better than you need for a 29, and in many cases is closer to a 26/27 any% level of execution,
| so don't worry about trying to match all the times if that is your goal. As a result the total sum of best is much
| faster than what's needed for a sub 30 and I would not recommend comparing to it if that is your goal.
| ||||||||
| It should also be noted sub-30 as a milestone inherently has a bit of leeway - it's fine to cut small bit of
| movement/strats you dislike or have levels notably weaker than the times listed, as there's always room to
| make up for it elsewhere with stronger chapters, better general movement or just greater consistency in
| comparison to your sum of best: do whatever it takes to make the grind fun for you, as that's what it should be.
| ||||||||
| Personal Tips | |||||||
| ||||||||
| - Whenever you want to pick up a new strat, I'd strongly recommend timing both the new strat and your current
| strat to see how much time it saves. It's important to know the risk reward of what you're adding, and ensure
| what you're doing actually saves time for you.
| ||||||||
| - The intended use case of the sheet is watching both safe and risky, using one as a baseline and picking up strats
| from the other that you like. If you exclusively stick to one column you will likely end up missing strats that you
| would like. This applies to strat finding once you outgrow the sheet too: every person has a different set of ideal
| strats, so if you only use one resource you will likely be missing out!
